Alter Heaven is a fanmade Deltarune Role Swap AU co-created by Reddit users Axquirix and ClayGoat, the former having worked on Noelle and Rudy play Deltarune. It is an alternate take of the events of the original Deltarune where Asriel and Kris' ages are swapped, meaning the former character is in Alphys' class while the latter is in college.
One day in class, Alphys sends Asriel to the hallway along with Susie for laughing at the latter's rude joke. While they're in the hallway, Susie tells Asriel to get her some chalk from the closet to eat, but the closet is locked. At that moment, Noelle comes out to fetch them, but decides to help Asriel find chalk and picks the lock. However, the closet turns out to be Bigger on the Inside, and Asriel and Noelle end up finding themselves inside of a dark otherworldly place which is not quite the same as what you might expect it to look like...

After receiving harassment over a writing decision around Noelle's sexuality, Clay deleted both their Reddit account and the Comic Series page, quitting the comic. Axquirix, the other creator of the comic, then announced that the comic was cancelled entirely... Fortunately, Clay had stated that they planned to bring back ''Alter Heaven'', though the series stayed on hiatus before resuming on June 6, 2023.
Alter Haven contains examples of:
- Adaptational Sexuality: While Noelle only seemed to express attraction towards other women in the original game, here she is pansexual according to
Word of God, and appears to show interest in an unmasked Irsk, who is nonbinary, and Berdly, who is male.- Berdly, who had eyes for Susie in the original Deltarune, is gay and crushing on Asriel.
- Adaptation Personality Change:
- Noelle here is still a Nice Girl, except she's way bolder than her Deltarune counterpart. Word of God states that because she didn't grow up hanging out with Kris, she didn't develop her unique fascinations with scary things and thus doesn't develop an attraction to Susie. Ironically, her having a different attitude towards Susie leads to the latter becoming somewhat attracted to her.
- Chaliced is more intelligent than Lancer, his original counterpart, and he plays "the good guy" under the assumption that the Lightners are bad guys, but he's much quicker to change his mind once he sees that they're not bad people.
- Irsk is almost the polar opposite of Ralsei, being a rude Darkner who prefers to resolve encounters with violence, not even having an option to spare enemies in their battle menu.
- Noelle here is still a Nice Girl, except she's way bolder than her Deltarune counterpart.
- Affectionate Nickname: Asriel is called Azzy, just like in Deltarune. Also, Noelle is a nickname in this world too, but only special people get to know their real name.
- Age Lift: In this AU, Kris and Asriel's ages are swapped, meaning Asriel is the one to be exploring the dark worlds instead.
- All Love Is Unrequited: Noelle is actually attracted to Berdly in this AU, but the latter doesn't return the affection due to being gay.
- Alternate Self: In Part 17, Noelle and Asriel conclude that Irsk is this to Kris.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Apparently, something happened in the past with Asriel regarding Kris and the closets, presumably being related to the Dark Worlds. This led to Asriel developing a Trauma Button.
- Disproportionate Retribution: In chapter 2, after Susie is arrested for being a likely suspect for causing Asriel's coma, when Noelle goes to the jail to visit Susie, Undyne arrests her for skipping class. Fortunately for Noelle, this doesn't really matter since she came to talk to Susie anyway, and Asgore conveniently comes in to release them.
- Master of Unlocking: Noelle is able to efficiently pick locks after having lost her keys so many times. Exaggerated when she manages to pick a magically enchanted gate.
- Role Swap AU: Here, Kris is in college while Asriel is still attending high school in Hometown. Noelle fills in the role of Asriel's dark world companion instead of Susie, and Ralsei, presumed to be an Asriel counterpart in Deltarune, is replaced with a Kris counterpart named Irsk.
- Wham Episode: At the end of Chapter 1, Asriel uniting the Dark Fountains results in him going into a coma. This may have been due to him having a monster SOUL.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Noelle calls out Irsk for being rude and unheroic for the whole trip despite their claims that they wants to save the world.
