A Boy and the Magma Dragon is a Fairy Tail story by Warmachine 375.
While searching for clues to find Igneel as a little boy, Natsu Dragneel encounters a Magma Dragon who dwells deep within the volcano as her domain and a former retainer of his adoptive father, befriending her. Volcanis decides to watch over the boy, train him and be a mother figure to fill in the void Igneel left when he disappeared.

- Heavy Sleeper: Volcanis is this as she slept for a long time inside the volcano. It actually saved her life from being involved in the Dragon Civil War and not end up one of the victims of Acnologia. Lampshaded by Igneel when Grandeeney wishes they should have gotten her involved in the 400 Year Plan.
- Interspecies Adoption: Volcanis adopts Natsu as her son after learning he was abandoned by Igneel which made her furious as the father Dragons leave their offspring to be raised by the mother Dragons. She intends to finish Natsu's training of his Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, stating that she sparred with Igneel to know how he fights.
- Magma Man: Or rather the Magma Dragon as Volcanis is a Dragon whose body is the element of magma itself, similar with Atlas Flame whose entire body is Wreathed in Flames. Just like Atlas Flame, all magic will be burned away from her body as Brain and Jellal found out the hard way.
- Mook Maker: Volcanis is this as she creates humanoid soldiers made of magma from her body to fight for her, be it a single knight to test young Natsu or an army of them to attack the Tower of Heaven. Of course, she is still dangerous.
- Odd Friendship: God Serena shares this with Filomena E. Fiore and Bram Kaden despite his Agent Peacock attitude.
