The Mare in the Moon has returned, and the dark power that created Nightmare Moon is awakening again with the aid of a magical Moonstone. The two princesses and the Mane Six must use the Elements of Harmony to banish the darkness once and for all. Meanwhile, on Prehistoric Earth an alien artifact identical to the Moonstone falls into Predacon hands. A skirmish between the Predacons and Maximals Blackarachnia and Depth Charge transports them to the world of Equestria. There, the Predacons terrorize the ponies, who find new allies in the Maximals.
This fanfic provides examples of:
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: As usual, Pinkie, when mentioning "robots in disguise". She does this again with Tarantulas, confusing him.
- Combination Attack:
- The Resonance Wave Cannon Lyra-Bon! Lyra uses her magic to create a construct of a giant tuning fork. Meanwhile, Bon Bon stands on Lyra's back and uses her uncanny vocal powers to sing a note higher than any pony's auditory range into the magical tuning fork. The resulting sound waves almost shatter Rampage's chassis.
- The Elements of Harmony magical friendship rainbow beam is one of these as well.
- Drama Queen: Rarity. She's actually able to use this attribute to her advantage by using her swooning couch as a projectile weapon.
- Dream Sequence: While regenerating in stasis, Megatron has a dream where he meets the original G1 Megatron, whose core consciousness has awakened in Predacon Megatron since he's currently carrying the original Megatron's spark.
- Good is Not Nice: Celestia, while going Mama Bear on the Predacons for attacking her ponies, becomes savage and cruel, even getting pissy towards Luna who was trying to calm her down. Then there's Depth Charge who really does not want to listen to Lyra's Seapony song.
- Hero Killer: Quickstrike manages to poison Big Macintosh. However it was recently revealed he would be okay
- I Am a Humanitarian: Rampage intends to eat Bon Bon when Lyra and Depth Charge first find them in her house. He's even cooking a fava bean stew.
- Mad Scientist: Tarantulas makes the Hooves' family basement into a makeshift laboratory and plans to experiment on Derpy and her family.
- Make Me Wanna Shout: Bon Bon uses this to great effect on Rampage.
- Mama Bear: Derpy punches Tarantulas' head clean through a wall when she realized he was threatening Dinky.
- Mind Screw: It's one thing for Pinkie to attack Tarantulus with a baseball bat, a rolling pin, and start chucking bowling balls at the sucker, but how in the name of both Primus and Celestia did Pinkie manage to find a semi truck (that suspiciously looks an awful lot like Optimus Prime), let alone get it down into Derpy's Basement?
- Playing with Fire: Inferno. The crazy firebug sets fire to a tornado and burns down Twilight's treehouse!
- Status Quo Is God:Not one chapter after the library tree burns down, Princess Luna and Twilight Sparkle use magic to bring it back to life, none the worse for wear save for the books and furniture. Justified because the author has stated that the story takes place in between Seasons 2 and 3, and the library is just as healthy as it's always been in Season 3.
- Would Hurt a Child: Both Dinobot and Tarantulas attempt to cause harm to Sweetie Belle and Dinky Hooves respectively. It doesn't work out well for either of them.
