  • Antaeus is a shout-out to the Golden Age Superman due to being a super-strong jumping brick..

  • Ditto, Graywing to the Golden Age Batman. He's The Cowl detective who fights Nazis with his Cool Car.
  • Athena is a shout-out to Wonder Woman. Being a Greek goddess who does battle with Ares.
  • Big Game Hunter is based on Kraven. He hunts animal themed heroes for sport.
  • Black Wing is obviously a shout out to Batman being a super-smart scientist detective as well as The Cowl successor to Graywing.
  • Black Wing II is an homage to Nightwing. He also has elements of Tony Stark.
  • Dame Michelle Holmes is an homage to Judi Dench's M. It's implied that she was the Miss Moneypenny counterpart back in the Age of Spies, and Word of God is that she was also kinda sorta Para-Medic to General Venom's Naked Snake.
  • Dawn Wing I and II are homages to Robin. They're sidekick characters to the Batman equivalent.
  • Demon Rider is an homage to Ghost Rider. He's also the Tomorrow Society's Wolverine counterpart.
  • Death Mask III is a combination of Lex Luthor (as Kenneth Kane) and Dr Doom (as Death Mask). He is a master scientist leader of a Nebulous Criminal Conspiracy and dictator of his own Ruritania country.
  • Divinos is a shout-out to Superman and the Martian Manhunter. He is an adult who escaped his home planet's destruction.
  • Doctor Aeon is a very obvious analogue to Doc Savage. He also leads the Fantastic Four equivalent.
  • Doctor Necros is Doctor Sivana with Doctor Octopus's tentacles. A Mad Scientist with lots of machine arms.
  • Doctor S and the Futuremen are homages to the Stan Lee early X-Men days. They're all dead now, though. Probably.
  • General Venom is some weird hybrid of Baron Zemo, Cobra Commander, the Nomad version of Captain America, and Big Boss from Metal Gear.
  • The Iron Khan is a combination of Lo Pan, Shang Tsung, Fu Manchu, and the Mandarin. There's arguably a bit of Ra's Al Ghul in there as well.
  • Jacob Hunter is an homage to James Bond. A Legacy Character, the original Hunter was the Bond from the novels, his successors are the various film versions. Daniel Craig Hunter also has elements of Jason Bourne.
  • The Lurking Phantom is the Shadow with the Phantom elements. He's a former Golden Age hero who was trained in a South American country.
  • Mr Hoppy is a more malevolent version of Mr Mxyzptlk, being an omnipotent funny trickster.
  • The New Fighters For Freedom are inspired by the Wolfman-era New Teen Titans.
  • The Patriots are a shout-out to the Mighty Avengers and Justice League.
  • The Psychotic Seven are an homage to the Authority. They're all Fallen Hero types and considered an Old Shame of the setting.
  • Puzzles is an homage to Bizarro, being a clone of Divinos.
  • Razortalon is an homage to Sabertooth. He's a murderous psychopathic killer who bedevils The Tomorrow Society.
  • The Red King is an homage to Magneto being the leader of the Genetic Nation and also a Mad Scientist.
  • The Red Queen has elements of Scarlet Witch and Raven of the Teen Titans. She's the daughter of Orkus the Mad God and a powerful sorceress mutant.
  • Splotch is a shout-out to the Amazing Spider-Man. But he has shadow casting powers instead. He's also a Legacy Character.
  • Steel Commando has elements of Captain America and Iron Man (or maybe more War Machine). He's a Golden Age hero Legacy Character that has power armor.
  • Supreme is an homage to Deathstroke the Terminator and possibly Snake Eyes from G.I. Joe. He's a Super-Soldier gone bad as well as a ninja.
  • The Tomorrow Society is an homage to the Claremont X-Men. They're the successors to the Futuremen.
  • Ultimatum and Valkyrie are homages to Captain and Mary Marvel. (Valkyrie also acts as Kitty Pryde/Jubilee/Pixie to Demon Rider's Wolverine.)
  • Ultramind is a shout-out to Brainiac. Ultramind 2 is equivalent to Jocasta. They're alien powerful AI with the former being evil and the latter being good.
  • Ymir is a shout-out to the Mighty Thor. With the Incredible Hulk's origin of being empowered by a nuclear explosion.
