Ensemble Darkhorse / Hogan's Heroes

Several recurring and one-shot characters from Hogan's Heroes are extremely popular among fans.

  • Sgt. Wilson. For a character who appears for 1 minute in one episode ("Operation Briefcase"), he is frequently featured in fanworks. Most likely so because he is the O.C. Stand-in for a medic.
  • Major Hochstetter is the most popular recurring villain for his Large Ham and Knight of Cerebus tendencies.
  • Corporal Langenscheidt makes less than twenty appearances but is a constant fanfiction presence for being the only recurring guard besides Schultz (often sharing scenes with him in fanfiction) and seeming like a decent but bumbling guy.
  • Olsen, the "outside man" of the camp made a strong impression in the first episode that left many wishing he'd had more than just three subsequent appearances, and he's a regular fan fiction character.
  • The well-meaning but bumbling unsuccessful Prison Escape Artist Colonel Crittendon steals the show in all eight of his appearences.
  • Conniving Russian spy Marya wins more fans with each infrequent appearence.
  • Prison Escape Artist Malcolm Flood is a very hard to forget Allied guest star.
  • Munitions man Otto Von Krubner from "Guess Who Came to Dinner?" and Gestapo Major Pruhst from "Hogan's Double Life" may not be either the funniest or most intimidating German officials to visits the camp. Nonetheless, they are both still among the more popular Axis guest stars for having just enough comedy and menace to mix well with their unusual canniness and Pet the Dog moments toward constant Butt-Monkey Klink.
  • General von Schieder and his wife Lili (an Allied spy) from "D-Day at Stalag 13" get a lot of recognition for having some of the most poignant guest performances in the show.
  • Two guest characters from "Klink vs. the Gonculator", defecting Hero of Another Story electronic expert Major Lutz and Beleaguered Bureaucrat supply officer Captain Dingel, put on particularly memorable appearances that are known even to some people who don't regularly watch the show.
  • Underground agent Gerda and her young assistant from "Get Fit or Go Fight" only appear in one scene, but are fondly remembered for the hilarious way that they use Klink as an Unwitting Pawn messenger boy for their activities.
  • Lieutenant Bigelow from "Klink's Secret Weapon" is a favorite among all of the one-shot airmen whom Hogan smuggles out of Germany and back to Allied lines, given how he gets a few Hyper-Competent Sidekick moments throughout the episode.
  • General Von Richter from "Will the Blue Baron Strike Again" has a decent following for being a villainous Four-Star Badass with some good Tranquil Fury and Deadpan Snarker tendencies that are directed at his old frenemy Klink.
  • Undercover Allied agent Robert Morrison/Hans Teppel favorably impressed the fans enough that he's been used in fanfiction stories a lot more than most undercover operators the team works with.
  • Heroic Seductress Lili from "The Tower" is a common favorite among the team's Underground allies from the first couple of seasons.
  • General Von Kaplow from "Movies Are Your Best Escape" is a decently-remembered visitor to the camp due to his Eyepatch of Power and humorous Affably Evil moments toward both Klink and Hogan.
