Welp, this could have gone worse...
Given the nature of the channel, several of the videos can either play this trope for laughs or play it straight and actually be sad.

     Played for Laughs
  • "Mario for Hire": Mario finally gets the money he needs to buy himself a new kart, and while talking a victory lap around the track, he bumps into residential Butt-Monkey Luigi who is casually standing in the middle of the track, launching him towards Heavy's gun, prompting him to appear and demand to know who touched his gun. At first Mario doesn't care, until Luigi tells him it was Mario (who had previously put the blame on Luigi for wrecking Bowser's kart and stealing Heavy's sandwich), which causes Heavy to shift his attention to Mario. Mario attempts to threaten Heavy with a badass fighting posture and appearance (Mario with Duke Nukem's body), but is immediately defeated and launched across the landscape, with the brand new kart Mario bought following in suit. The kart lands on Mario, bounces off, and self-destructs.
  • "Mario Preschool": The video ends with the cast (except for Bob and Steve) getting arrested for various crimes throughout the video (Mario for stealing animals, Luigi from summoning a demon, Yoshi for evading taxes, Bowser for being mistaken for a child kidnapper, Boopkins for making fan art shipping himself with Miku, Meggy for having the mess pinned on her by Boopkins for his earlier crime, and SMG4 for being a dangerous meme). They are then subjected to Bob's story, much to their horror.
  • "Mario Does the Chores": Mario fails to do the tasks Peach gave him and makes things worse. When Peach returns, understandably upset at Mario, transforms into Peachgam and chases after Mario.
  • "The Corn Trip": It turns out the buyer for the truckload of corn that Rob and Bob spent all episode trying to deliver ends up being Mario, who refuses to take it because he actually ordered spaghetti, and Bob completely misread the order. It ends with Rob's head exploding in disappointment.
  • "Cooking with Mario & Bowser: World Tour": After being forced to eat Mr. Monitor's prison sludge, Mario and Bowser are both left hospitalized. Just as Mario declares that they'll never cook ever again, Bob bursts in with his "garbage soup", to which the two respond appropriately.
  • The 2020 Christmas Special invokes and parodies the Sudden Downer Ending trope with a nuclear bomb literally crashing SMG4's Christmas party. Turns out it was a story read by SMG3 to a couple of Ugandan Knuckles, who then proceed to attack the former.
  • "If Mario Moves, He Dies": After a harrowing experience on his stretcher around the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario finally makes it to the hospital alive... and ends up receiving a penis transplant originally meant for Toad, whom he had just crashed into.
  • "If Mario Was The Last Man On Earth": By the time Mario snaps out of his isolation-induced Sanity Slippage, he's inadvertantly ruined the entire Mushroom Kingdom's attempt at a pizza record, causing the enraged inhabitants to jump him as the video pauses with "To Be Contiuned" written on the screen.
  • "MARIO BALLIN?!?!" ends with SMG4 losing the match thanks to Luigi, proving the meme guardian's not ballin'. However, despite winning, SMG3 ain't ballin' either... because Luigi is. Also, Michael Jordan destroyed the world by crashing the moon into it.
  • "SMG4 NEWS" ends with a furious SMG3 dragging the news station the Glitchy Gang are in into a black hole in retaliation for SMG4 bankrupting his coffee shop after getting understandably fed up his rival's unprofessionalism.

     Played Straight
  • "Tale of a bob-omb" has Mario kill a Bob-Omb right after it watched Mario kill its father.
  • "Marioception" ends with Mario suffering many nightmares in a series of Dream Within a Dream, with the implication being all because he stole the dream invention and E. Gadd's chocolate.
  • "Mario and the Waluigi Apocalypse", Mario, SMG4, Tari, Wario and Boopkins (of which the latter two's whereabouts are unknown) are the only ones not infected, with Saiko, Bob, Peach, Daisy, and Nintendofan997 having been T-posed.
  • "The Mario Concert": Bob's performance is accidentally ruined by Fishy Boopkins. As he tries to apologize, Bob snaps and delivers a scathing "Reason You Suck" Speech that doubles as a Motive Rant, revealing he set up the events of the previous episodes to gain his fame, including pushing poor Boopkins into a well. Boopkins is driven to tears as Bob leaves him and everyone behind to become an even bigger star.
  • Most of the Anime Arc episodes have this.
    • "Mario's Illegal Operation": Mario, Boopkins and SMG4 are forced by the anime cartel to escort Saiko to Japan, as real-life anime is banned as well, while Mario is forced to work off Francis's debt.
    • "Meggy's Bootcamp": Meggy's rival Desti returns and snatches the team's weapons, curb-stomping them in the process.
    • "The Splatfest Incident": the final shot of the episode is Meggy, chained to the floor, as her kidnapper shuts the door on her.
    • "World War Mario": Desti is killed by a Sephiroth construct in cold blood. Cue the silent credits.
  • In "Deleted.", SMG3 succeeds in erasing SMG4 and the rest of the main cast besides Mario via Ret-Gone, ensuring that no one will bother him ever again.
  • "The Resurrection" has a Sudden Downer Ending, as Mario and Meggy's quest of using a magic altar to bring back their dead friends being dashed when it turns out to be cursed and nearly kills Bob, forcing them to destroy it and accept that people can't come back (something that's even more bitter for Mario). Even though there's a bit of Black Comedy in the last scene with Mario crazily beating up Bob with Greg's corpse, it doesn't quite alleviate the video to "Played for Laughs".
  • "Mario And The Backrooms" ends on Mario, SMG4 and SMG3 being sucked into Zero's USB.
  • "The Final Piece" ends with Zero managing to incapacitate all the heroes and forcing them to watch as he begins using Mario and the Guardian Pods to destroy the universe so he can make his new one.
  • "Absolute Betrayal" has Niles revealed to be a piece of Zero hiding in Melony's mind. Yeah, Zero's back. And to make matters worse, he possesses Melony and uses her power to make a portal to the "Great Beyond" and flies through it to find the God Box while the SMGs are stuck chained down and the rest of the gang is stuck in a cage as they helplessly watch everything falling apart.
  • While more of a No Ending than a straight Downer Ending, due to the episode not having a resolution, "Clown Fever" ends with the entire Mushroom Kingdom still under the effects of the titular disease, and Mario, the only one immune to it, having to chase down a clown-turned SMG4 (who attributed the mess to not writing the episode properly) to try and stop the chaos himself, and Depresso (who inadvertently started the whole mess) beginning to go mad after losing his girlfriend to SMG4.
  • "NINTENDO HAS CLAIMED THIS VIDEO" has SMG4 and Meggy returning with a parody law contract... but the DMCA is turned in first. As a result, all the OCs fall over with their eyes rolled up, dead. It takes longer for Meggy to go down, dying after giving Mario one last hug, and the only non-Nintendo character left standing is SMG4 standing in the midst of his dead characters.
  • "MAR10 Day" ends with SMG4 (having been slowly going insane from working on his "perfect video") forcefully kicking everyone out of the party and angrily lashing out at his friends to leave him alone to his work before returning to his computer. All of his friends are saddened by this, especially Mario, who was going give SMG4 the "Mar10 Day Best Friend Award". SMG4 then starts livestreaming himself working...
