Danganronpa: Haunted Hope is about a series of twenty students being invited by a prestigious family to have a weekend stay at the Yagami Mansion, one of the largest mansions in Japan. Further investigation would prove to have no yield, as the Yagami Family isn't mentioned anywhere on the internet. The letter reads as follows:
"Welcome esteemed student,
We at Chateau of Yagami are pleased to formally invite you to a weekend stay at our mansion in honor to celebrate your abilities, accomplishments, and future developments as Ultimates. Thank you for serving our community, and we hope for a bright future with your generation. Here at the Chateau of Yagami, we have a butler and other rooms especially accustomed to your needs and talents. You will also be provided with dorms to stay at for the weekend along with entertainment from various classical musicians.
We really do hope you enjoy your stay... For any further questions, please send a letter back to..."
The rest of the letter is scratched out.
This Danganronpa roleplay contains examples of:
- All or Nothing: Either kill and graduate to escape, or live in a haunted house.
- Anyone Can Die: This is a given, especially since this is related to Danganronpa.
- Big Bad: The headmasters can be considered this!
- Black Blood: But like Danganronpa, it's pink!
- Body of the Week: Yeah! Especially given that this is Danganronpa.
- Cast of Snowflakes: Every character is an Ultimate and have their own unique personality, of course! Not a surprise at all.
- Character Death: Yup! Every chapter a few characters die, after all. That's part of Danganronpa's charm.
- Characters Dropping Like Flies: Given that this is Danganronpa, yeah...
- Closed Circle: The characters are trapped with no way to escape, stuck in a manor with the headmasters. Not just a manor, but a haunted one at that.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: Obviously, a lot of deaths can be considered this, especially in regards to the executions.
- Deadly Game: Like said before, because this is Danganronpa.
- Dwindling Party: Like Danganronpa, the cast always dwindles every chapter.
- Public Execution: Typical Danganronpa style, the murderer gets executed in front of everybody.
- Sadistic Choice: To kill a fellow Ultimate in order to get out. Simple enough, but cruel.
- The Ace: Since everyone is an Ultimate, they specialize in a certain job or skillset.
- Win Your Freedom: The typical rules of Danganronpa. You kill and you could escape if you are not caught.
- You Wake Up in a Room: Averted! The characters came to the manor of their own volition!
