RIP 1962-1999

"Zoë was a brilliant, creative person before the drugs, the drugs just killed her."

Zoë Tamerlis Lund (February 9, 1962 - April 16, 1999) was an American actress, model, musician, screenwriter, producer, author, and activist. She is best known for her two collaborations with director Abel Ferrara, playing the Tragic Villain Protagonist Thana in Ms. 45 and Zoe in Bad Lieutenant, for the latter of which she co-wrote the screenplay.

Throughout her life, Lund struggled with drug addiction, openly writing about her issues with heroin and advocating for its legalization. In Ferrara's words, "She loved heroin, she was killed by heroin." Lund moved to Paris in 1997, where she eventually managed to kick the habit, only to become addicted to cocaine instead, culminating in her death from heart failure brought on by her use of the substance.
