Tom Tykwer (born 23 May 1965 in Wuppertal, West Germany) is a German film director, producer, screenwriter, and composer.
He is best known internationally for directing such films as Run Lola Run, Perfume, and The International. He has regularly collaborated with The Wachowskis, co-directing Cloud Atlas and directing several episodes of Sense8 as well as composing part of their respective scores, such as Lana's The Matrix Resurrections. Tykwer is also well-known as the co-creator of the internationally acclaimed German TV series Babylon Berlin.
