The Initiative is a Santa Monica-based video game developer founded by Xbox Game Studios in 2018 to develop top-tier, story-based video games for the Xbox brand. To this end, the company has been staffed with former employees of studios such as Crystal Dynamics, Naughty Dog, Rockstar Games, and Sony Santa Monica, among others. They are currently working on a new IP, the details of which aren't yet known.
