The Initiative is a Santa Monica-based video game developer founded by Creator/XboxGameStudios in 2018 to develop top-tier, story-based video games for the Xbox brand. To this end, the company has been staffed with former employees of studios such as Creator/CrystalDynamics, Creator/NaughtyDog, Rockstar Games, and [[Creator/SCESantaMonicaStudio Sony Santa Monica]], among others.
