Theodore Eibon Donald Klein (born July 15, 1947), better known by his pen name T.E.D. Klein, is an American horror author and editor.

Klein has written very few works, but his works have been critically acclaimed and regarded as some of the finest works of horror literature. Klein's works are known for his unnerving cosmic horror and for copious references to the works of fellow horror authors, particularly H. P. Lovecraft and his associates. Klein has even written a few stories set in the Cthulhu Mythos.

Works by T.E.D. Klein with their own pages include:

Tropes in his works:

  • Author Appeal: His works are generally cosmic horror, and feature authors well-versed in the realm of horror literature as the protagonist. Expect copious amounts of references to other horror stories.
  • Cosmic Horror Story: Very much so. His works feature incomprehensible Eldritch Abominations that are utterly unstoppable, and the protagonist is always helpless to stop them.
  • Deconstructive Parody: To an extent. Klein certainly plays a lot of the tropes Lovecraft codified straight, but also satirizes his protagonists' small-mindedness while still playing a lot of the other tropes straight.
