Stryder7x is a YouTuber who has gained notoriety for his videos detailing how to exploit glitches in the game Paper Mario 64. These glitches often include methods of crashing the game ("(action) Crashes Paper Mario" is a pretty typical video title of his) and of sequence-breaking. Arguably one of the more significant contributors to his fame was the discovery of a glitch in Paper Mario resembling the memetic "Parallel Universe" glitch from Super Mario 64, which itself was popularized by fellow YouTuber pannenkoek2012.

Listing these tropes crashes Paper Mario:

  • Comically Serious: His tone throughout the entirety of his Book of Mario playthrough. He trudges through the innuendos and goofiness with a voice you'd expect from a dramatic reading.
  • Emergent Gameplay: This comes with the territory of extensive sequence-breaking.
    • Notable is evilly crafting the four save files of a Paper Mario 64 cartridge so that, despite deceptively showing that game progress has been achieved in each one, glitches prevent the players from progressing any further into it.
  • Game-Breaking Bug: His bread and butter is helping document all of these, even the ones that are decidedly not game-breaking.
  • Never the Selves Shall Meet: Downplayed, but one softlock in "Top 10 Softlocks in Paper Mario" is triggered by glitching your way back to the prologue and have Goombario use tattle on himself.
  • Running Gag:
    • The one room in Mt. Lavalava from Paper Mario 64 with the two ziplines, two trampolines, and Save Block, which appears in practically every video with some new glitch. It's typically cited as a contender for the most glitchy room in the gamenote .
    • Goompa as a partner often comes up a lot, too, with Stryder saying he comes up every other video.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Played for Laughs. When Nurse claims that she could save Peach during his Book of Mario playthrough...
Stryder: "Yeah, then do it!" [drops the controller] "I quit!"
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Badge Duplication is one of the longest scripted videos he's ever done at 43 minutes, with multiple distinct sections and multiple people doing the voiceover, and it's about an extremely long and complicated glitch setup... that accomplishes basically nothing.
  • Unintentionally Unwinnable:invoked A common task that Stryder pursues.
    • What else would one expect from "Hitting This Block for 416 Years Crashes Paper Mario"? Hitting a certain block in "Dry Dry Desert" 4,294,967,296 times (which takes about 36 years) will begin to spawn item blocks again, since the variable in memory signifying when to spawn blocks will overflow back to 0. Repeating this process and spawning a total of thirty blocks eventually crashes the game. Just hope that you don't do exactly this during your Paper Mario playthroughs!
    • His "Making an Evil Paper Mario Cartridge" and "Creating an Impossible Paper Mario Cartridge" involve doing four different versions of these per cartridge, the former based on more harmful glitches and the latter involving breaking puzzles with glitches to make them unsolvable.
  • Video Game Cruelty Potential: "Luigi Gets Ditched" features a way of heading to the celebration while leaving Luigi behind in Paper Mario 64 during one of the final cutscenes of the game. Downplayed, as Luigi can still be spotted later in the sequence, leading the parade.
