Stirr
is a free streaming television service in the US owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Group. Much like its major competitor, Pluto TV, Stirr offers a mixture of varying genres of movies and television presented in linear channel format, with advertisements interspersed after so long.
Since Sinlcair owns many local television stations, it has incorporated them into the service, typically by featuring local news simulcasts within its "Stirr City" channel, offering up alternate programming drawn from its other channels when nationwide network shows are airing. While the website and app typically try to connect to the Sinclair station in the user's home market, not every station has opted in or the area doesn't have a Sinclair station, in which case the grid defaults to WJLA-TV, Washington D.C.'s station. There's also no geo-locking feature, so while the site will lock to the user's location using GPS, there's nothing stopping you from simply choosing a different city on the other side of the country.
