Victoria Louise Samantha Marie Elizabeth Therese Eggar (born 5 March 1939 in Hampstead, London), better known as just Samantha Eggar, is an English actress.
She started her career in the Shakespearean theater before rising to fame with her role in William Wyler's 1965 thriller The Collector, which earned her an Academy Award nomination (and a Golden Globe win) for Best Actress.
Eggar worked frequently during the 1960s and '70s, appearing in such films as Doctor Dolittle and The Molly Maguires. She later appeared in several horror movies, including David Cronenberg's The Brood and the Canadian slasher Curtains. She has also done some animation voice work, most notably as Hera in Disney's animated film Hercules.
