Plonq
is a Canadian author of web original fiction and fan fiction, much of whose work features furry characters. The author first began writing Star Trek and Dungeons & Dragons stories in the 1980s under his real name as co-author, some of this material appearing in an Italian print publication. A short stint as solo author of fan fiction for The Lion King (1994) saw the writer briefly adopt the pseudonym Snowcat before settling on Plonq as nom de plume.
As Plonq, the author has produced fan fiction for the My Little Pony, Bolt, and Transformers franchises and web original fiction featuring his furry Funny Animal alter ego, a snow leopard morph. They have appeared in both Short Story One-Shot Fic and multi-chapter Completed Fic formats. He counts authors such as Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett as influences, but forges his own signature style.
