John Louis Mansi, born John Patrick Adams, (8 November 1926 — 6 August 2010), was a British actor best known for playing Herr von Smallhausen in 'Allo 'Allo!.
He was first cast as Herr von Smallhausen in the second series of 'Allo 'Allo!, although the character was much different at first. Herr von Smallhausen was intended to be a little sinister Gestapo officer, but much like Herr Flick, succumbed to Villain Decay and became the bumbling fool we all know and love today.
He also made appearances in Department S, Ripping Yarns and Hammer House of Horror on TV, while on the big screen he has appeared in The Small World of Sammy Lee, Help!, The Italian Job (1969), Tales from the Crypt and Ooh... You Are Awful.
He retired from acting in 1992.
He died at the age of 83.
