Joanne Heywood is a British actress best known for playing Jessica Lovelock in Grace & Favour.
Her acting career began in musical theatre at the Guildford School of Acting. Once she graduated, her professional stage debut was in the Pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk in 1985 at the Theatre Royal, followed by plays such as The Odd Couple and Romeo and Juliet.
The following year marked Heywood's first time on TV, appearing in an episode of Brush Strokes. After this, she was cast in the Last of the Summer Wine prequel, First of the Summer Wine, as Dilys, a role she played for two series.
Following guest roles in The New Statesman and The Brittas Empire, she joined the cast of Are You Being Served? in the After Show, Grace & Favour, as Jessica Lovelock. Once G&F came to an end, Heywood appeared in series including Knightmare, Next of Kin, Coronation Street, A Prince Among Men, and Heartbeat.
Come the 2000s, Heywood started taking fewer TV roles, choosing to focus on the theatre, both regional and in the West End.
