Gary Peter Waldhorn, (3 July 1943 — 10 January 2022), was a British actor best known for playing David Horton in The Vicar of Dibley.

After graduating from the Yale School of Drama in 1967, where he performed in the new works written by Lillian Hellman. He went on to work in many West End theatre productions and collaborated with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Waldhorn began appearing on TV in The '70s, going on to make small appearances in The Bill, Brideshead Revisited, Gallowglass, Heartbeat, Lovejoy, Minder, The New Avengers, The Professionals, Robin of Sherwood, Rumpole of the Bailey, Softly, Softly, Space: 1999, and The Sweeney.

He also played Lionel Bainbridge in Brush Strokes for the first three series. When Waldhorn left the series, Lionel was killed off. In 1994, he was cast in the role he was best known for - the snobbish David Horton in The Vicar of Dibley - and appeared in every episode.

He died at the age of 78.
