Frances Brookes (born 13 May, 1958 in Wolverhampton, West Midlands), better known by her stage name Frances Barber, is an English actress. She has been a mainstay of the British stage since the early 1980s, with numerous Shakespeare productions under her belt. Best known roles include the films Prick Up Your Ears, Sammy And Rosie Get Laid, and Film Stars Dont Die In Liverpool. She had a major recurring role in the sixth series of the Doctor Who reboot.
While at university, Barber dated Danny Boyle, who would go on to become an acclaimed film director.
