David Troughton (born 9 June 1950) is an English actor. He is perhaps best known as one of the most prolific stage actors for the Royal Shakespeare Company, though he has also performed many television roles.

He is the eldest son of actor Patrick Troughton (the Second Doctor in Doctor Who), and has had plenty of involvement with the show and franchise in his own right, acting in four separate Who storiesshow list  spanning from 1968 to 2008, lending his voice to numerous Big Finish Doctor Who stories, and narrating numberous audiobooks of Target novelisations of stories that starred his father.

He played The Duke of Wellington in the first two instalments of the Sharpe series before leaving for health reasons; the role was recast to Hugh Fraser thereafter.

His younger brother, Michael Troughton, and son, Sam Troughton, are also actors.
