David William Huddleston (September 17, 1930 – August 2, 2016) was an American actor. He was best known for Blazing Saddles, Santa Claus: The Movie, and The Big Lebowski, playing the title characters in the latter two.
In his youth he served for four years in the U.S. Air Force. He was married twice, to Carole Ann Swart and to casting director Sarah C. Koeppe. Huddleston died of heart and kidney disease a little short of his 86th birthday.
