Battlestar Galactica BSG vs. BSG is a 2018 six-issue miniseries from Dynamite Comics based on the Battlestar Galactica franchise written by Peter David. This series serves as a Crossover between the 1978 original series by Glen A. Larson and the 2003 re-imagining by Ronald D. Moore.

While fleeing from the ever-pursuing Cylons, the crew of the Galactica pass through an unexpected wormhole and on the other side, they meet... ANOTHER Galactica! As both sets of Colonials try to assess the situation, the unexpected return of Commander Cain and the Battlestar Pegasus, coupled with ideological differences between the two Adamas, may threaten to tear both fleets apart...

NOTE: To avoid confusion, as some names from the original series were used as callsigns for characters from the re-imagined series, characters like Lee and Kara (callsigns: Apollo and Starbuck) will be referred to by their real names.

  • Actor Allusion: When William Adama notices Apollo, he calls for his arrest due to his striking similarities to Tom Zarek, suspecting them both to be Cylons. This is a reference to the fact that both characters were played by the same actor, Richard Hatch.
  • Canon Foreigner: Khali, the last reptilian Cylon, was created for this series.
  • False Flag Operation: Using the "Omega Protocol" training exercise, the Viper squadrons of both Galacticas trick Iblis and the Clyons into thinking they're turning on each other, catching them off-guard when both sets of squadrons start attacking them.
  • Fantastic Racism: Later in the story, Commander Adama expresses this towards Sharon Agathon when he learns she's a humanoid Cylon, thinking that she'll eventually betray William Adama. To be fair, it's not hard to fault him, as he can't exactly trust ANY version of a race that destroyed the Twelve Colonies. William retorts that Sharon has earned his trust and staunchly defends her place in the fleet.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Starbuck may be a ladies' man, but he'd NEVER knowingly sleep with a married woman. Too bad Kara left out that little detail.
  • Kneel Before Zod: Count Iblis uses his powers to force the '03 Cylons into doing this.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Count Iblis and Khali's plan is to foster distrust between the Galacticas (specifically regarding Sharon) to the point where they'll fight each other, leaving them vulnerable to a Cylon attack. However, this is subverted, as both Adamas quickly realize that Iblis WANTS them to fight. So they deceive him and the Cylons by pretending to fight using a Viper firing exercise.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Starbuck's reaction when he realizes that Kara Thrace is a married woman... after she let him sleep with her without telling him.
  • Screw Yourself: Yes. Starbuck does indeed sleep with his counterpart, Kara Thrace, which gets him into trouble with her husband, Anders, because Kara left out the fact that she was married to him. To Starbuck's credit, he's genuinely horrified at this revelation and apologizes to Anders for decking him.
  • Villain Team-Up: Count Iblis "convinces" the '03 Cylons into an alliance with him and Khali.
