The Council of Nations
Organization Tropes
A secret organization of the sixteen most powerful nations within the UN, the Council of Nations is responsible for the activation and subsequent funding of the XCOM project, and the appointment of the Commander. As of Advent Directive, the Council has been dismantled in favor of the ADVENT administration.
- Not-So-Omniscient Council of Bickering: Their main flaw is their inability to act regarding XCOM over the Commander and the bitter division he causes in them.
- United Nations Is a Superpower: Though the public UN is much like the real one, the Council exercises some real degree of power over the world.
Ali Ennor
Ali Ennor, Councilor of Australia
Australia's representative on the Council, Ali is a man with strong morals, and a low opinion of the Commander's deeds during the War on Terror.- Killed Off for Real: He is killed via a bomb in his car after his second conversation with the Commander, alongside his family.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Credit where it's due; even though he's no fan of his past, the few conversations he's had with the Commander show that he's willing to hear him out when it's most important.
- Taking You with Me: Considering the most likely suspects behind his assassination are in the Council, his final act before passing away is to give the Commander - whose appointment is opposed by a sizeable portion of the Council - the coordinates and password for a box he's hidden in Russia. Said box turns out to contain information on the entirety of the Council of Nations, from personal information on its members, to potential successors, their entire organizational structure, and documents and files on every operation, meeting, and plan in the organization's history.
