Stormcast Eternals

General

Sigrun

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sigrun_ror.png

A Lord-Celestant of the Hammers of Sigmar Stormhost. She is placed in charge of the Dawnbringer settlement of Harkanibus, and leads its defense from relentless assults from the Orruk Kruleboyz. With half of the Stormhost called away for another crusade, she is forced to lead the remaining Stormhost into the swamps of Ghur when she is informed of a powerful artifact that they save the Harkanibus from destruction.

  • Action Girl: As a Stormcast Eternal and the leader of a Stormhost, she is competent with the blade.
  • Back from the Dead: As a Stormcast Eternal, she is able to come back from life however she would lose memories of her life. near the ending of the main campaign, she came back with a handful of stormcast eternals as reinforcements from a different Stormhost.
  • Hairof Gold Heartof Gold: Has blonde hair tied into a bun but eventually turned deathly white after her Reforging.
  • Hero Killer: Killed Demechrios who was touched by the Ruinous Power through the artefacts they painstakingly fought for.
  • Last Stand: Died at the hands of Swamp Orruks although she eventually got better.

Iden

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/iden_ror.png

A Knight-Vexillor of the Hammers of Sigmar Stormhost. He is Sigrun's Second-in-Command.

  • Blood Knight: Loves a good fight and even admitted that he is only good at fighting. Eventually grew out of this after the battle for Harkanibus.
  • Fantastic Racism: Iden despises the servants of Nagash, calling them disparaging names like "Filth" and "Dregs". Somewhat justified in that the many servants of Nagash are generally evil and have a hatred for the living. And since he was originally from Shyish, he has likely experienced first-hand the cruelty of Nagash's followers.
  • Field Promotion: Was granted leadership over the Stormhost much to his chagrin.
  • The Nose Knows: Although he has been reforged as a Stormcast and has lost most of his memories from his former life, Iden apparently remembers enough of his past life as a denizen from Shyish (the Realm of Death). As such, he has an acute sense of smell when it comes to death and death magic.
  • Reluctant Ruler: Before Sigrun's sacrifice, she made it clear that she wants him to lead the Stormhost if she were to fall in battle. Iden objected to taking command, and when he does, he frequently doubts himself over his ability to lead.
  • You Are in Command Now: When Sigrun sacrifices herself to buy time for Iden and the rest of the Stormhost to safely reach Harkanibus, Iden takes command of the Stormhost.

Orruk Kruleboyz

General

Dankfeer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dankfeer_ror.png

A Kruleboy Killaboss who leads a horde of Orruk Kruleboyz against the Forces of Order settled in Ghur.

  • Ambitionis Evil: Has a great deal of ambition and wanted to be the biggest, baddest killaboss as the Orruks put it and according to Ripklaw, he already has plenty of it in abundance.
  • Battle Trophy: Sports several in the form of as a necklace conisting of amputated and preserved hands and several pieces of bodyparts on his person.
  • Bad Boss: An incredibly awful one. He steals the ideas of his subordinates plan and call it his own and remorselessly uses his minions as sacrifices to repair a magical staff for the sake of controlling a elemental monstrosity. He even went as far as letting Murkfang die out of perceived failure on the shaman.
  • Glad I Thought of It: Whenever Bludstew thinks of a cunning plan, Dankfeer steals his plans as his own and makes it look like he was the one who thought of it to begin with.
  • Karmic Death: Suffered one via getting swallowed by Da Retch much like how he let Murkfang get swallowed by the same monster.

Murkfang

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/murkfang_ror.png

A Swampcalla Shaman and Dankfeer's second-in-command. Although in service to Dankfeer, he despises the thought that he's a lackey, and has his own plans for power.

  • Dying Curse: When Murkfang is being consumed by the Retch and Dankfeer does nothing to save him despite the shaman's pleas, Murkfang can only angrily shout to Dankfeer that he'll kill him. One tentacle of the Retch that has incorporated Murkfang's corpse is the one to end Dankfeer once the killaboss loses control of the monstrosity.
  • The Starscream: He makes it no secret that he has ambitions of his own, and during his ritual, he blurted out that the power he will summon will allow him to rule the swamps of Ghur (something that Dankfeer overheard and corrected Murkfang that HE will rule the swamps). While allowing Murkfang to be swallowed by Da Retch was a dick move, it was also practical on Dankfeer's part to eliminate an overly ambitious subordinate who would have likely stabbed him in the back with whatever power he tried to obtain.

Bludstew

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bludstew_ror.png

  • The Dog Bites Back: When Dankfeer is being consumed by the Retch, Bludstew, after being constantly threatened and even being beaten by the former, does nothing to save his boss and even mocks him before Dankfeer is dragged to his demise.
  • The Dragon: He was this to Murkfang before the latter was consumed by the Retch. He later becomes one to Dankfeer.

Nighthaunt

General

Lord Gloam

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lord_gloam_ror.png

Once a street urchin who climbed his way to positions of power through treachery in life, he became a Knight of Shrouds in death. He leads a procession of Nighthaunt in guarding an ancient artifact of power from any who would seek to claim it.

  • Anti-Villain: He has tried to kill the heroes, but he is also an enemy of Chaos. In the flashback missions he tried to keep the artifact away from the Chaos forces as it could be used against them.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Like in his bio, Lord Gloam was once a simple street urchin and eventually became a powerful servant of Nagash. Pretty high up in the afterlife.
  • Last Words: When Demechrios manages to free that artifact from its bindings, Lord Gloam tries to warn him of its danger before being fatally stabbed by Iden. As he is being banished, he says:
Lord Gloam: "The prophecy bears its dark fruit!"
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Attacked the Stormcast Eternals as they have trespassed his territory and even attempted to prevent them from stealing a Chaos-tainted artefact.

Disciples of Tzeentch

General

Strylka Twingaze

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/strylka_ror.png

A Magister of Tzeentch who, long ago, fought against Lord Gloam and his Nighthaunt minions in order to destroy the artifact he carried under the belief that completing her goal will allow her to ascend into immortal daemonhood.

  • Ambitionis Evil: Wants to be immortal and a daemon prince of Tzeentch. Which isn't surprising, considering that one of Tzeentch's spheres of influence is ambition.
  • Crueland Unusual Death: Disintegrated into tiny particles as she turns into magical essence that got absorbed into the magical artefact she had been looking for.
  • Evil Sounds Raspy: She sounds like she is in need of water. IS also incredibly evil.
  • Mind over Matter: Has a special skill in-game that lets her to cast a powerful telekinetic blast. It can damage enemies, but can also heal allied units caught in the blast.
  • Two Beings, One Body: Strylka Twingaze are apparently two sisters sharing the same body. When one of them speaks, it is conveyed through one set of their eyes closing on one half of their face, and the other half opening either blue eyes for the calm and calculating sister and pink eyes for the erratic and deranged sister.

Others

Demechrios

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/demechrios_ror.png

A Celestial Wizard of the Collegiate Arcane. It is through his divinations that reveal to him an artifact of great power that may save the city of Harkanibus from the threat of the Orruks.

  • Seers: As he is a Celestial Wizard who draws the power of the Wind of Heavens, prophecy and divinations are part of his powerset.
  • Shock and Awe: Again, being a Celestial Wizard, he can cast lightning bolts through his knowlegde of the Lore of Heavens. His special ability is a chain lightning spell that can damage several groups of enemy units if they are close together.
  • Token Human: He is the only human amongst the semi-divine Stormcast Eternals.
