Zahak

Demon God of Disaster

The male protagonist. A pure-blooded demon lord who nearly wiped out every civilization of the old world until he was sealed away by the progenitor dragon. The recent upheaval due to the attack on the Principality of Elysis has awoken him, but many of his memories and true power have yet to recover, so he decides to make a pact with Tia for their mutual benefit.

  • Deal with the Devil: His deal with Tia, protecting her from Gashel's attack on her territory and helping her gain the power to seek her vengeance in exchange for using her help to regrow his own power and regain godhood.

Tia Elysis

Holy Shield Dragon Princess
The story's central character. A dragon princess who was exiled from her homeland by the priest Gashel, and desires to avenge her mother and younger brother who were outright killed, with Tia only surviving due to uncovering the Demon God sealed underneath her castle and making a pact with him. Though originally known as a kind and noble warrior, the path of vengeance may transform her into a cruel mistress that only desires destruction.
  • Deuteragonist: The game's story is told from Zahak's perspective, but it's Tia's striving for vengeance and deciding how to best bring true peace (or complete destruction) to the continent that drives the plot.
  • Guest Fighter: Due to votes cast during their fundraising campaigns, she appears in both Venus Blood -Hollow- and Venus Blood -Gaia- as a battle-only unit.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Should she let herself be corrupted by Zahak's power, her hair color changes from blue to magenta.

A talented wizard from the Dark Dragon clan studying long-forgotten civilizations and the artifacts they left behind, such as an armored train she's refurbished for personal use and christened the Behemoth. She's talented, but does not care about social situations, willingly helping Tia despite her exile just for the pursuit of further knowledge.

Mumul

Wise Pilot
A Garrod beastkin with keen insight, who Asta recruited as the pilot for her magical train. She's serious and responsible, but gets treated like a mascot by others due to her humble appearance.
  • Head Pet: She owns a pet bird that's always seen nesting on her hat.

Ain

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vblagoonchm06.png
Flame Chief Engineer
Mumul's younger brother, and fellow Garrod. He's skilled with dealing with fires, so Asta made him the head engineer of the magical train she uses for travel. Though usually kind and friendly, he will get angry if something threatens Mumul.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He's very protective of Mumul, and will put himself in danger to keep her safe.
  • Big Little Brother: Although he's younger than Mumul, he's always had a larger physique than Garrods his age; coupled with Sexy Dimorphism that makes him appear more wolf-like and Mumul more human-like, he towers over her.

Air Elysis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vblagoonchm07.png
Noble Divine Dragon Knight
Tia's mother, a kind ruler and commander of the Divine Dragon Clan's Four Heavenly Generals. However, her popularity led to envy and rumors that she would replace the current Dragon King, leading to her territory being invaded by her own allies.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: She's present at the very start of the story, but is a casualty of Gashel's attack in the inciting incident.

Julian Elysis

Dragon Princess of the Blue Sky
A princess that inherited the duchy of Alton, a land of clouds, at a young age. Upon hearing from Gashel that her childhood friend Tia is rebelling against the Divine Dragons and awakened a demon, she can't believe it, and decides to seek out Tia herself to learn her side of the story.

  • Guest Fighter: Due to votes cast during its fundraising campaign, she appears in Venus Blood -Gaia- as a battle-only unit.
  • Two Beings, One Body: She has a second soul in her body named Melusine, who is aligned with the Dark Dragon tribe, not a devoted follower of Eden as Vouivre is. When she's in control, their body's eyes are fully functional, and tinted red.

Gashel Bellings

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vblagoonchm13.png
High Priest of Conferment
The head priest of the religious Meskia Kingdom, while also serving Eden directly as her prime minister. He's willing to do anything for the greater good and the defeat of the Demon Dragon tribe, even if his secret battles are sometimes against his own allies.
  • Corrupt Church: His machinations in the name of serving Eden led to Tia being exiled from her homeland and the deaths of her family at the start of the game, being the first indication that Divine Dragon doctrine has some notable flaws.
  • The Creon: He has significant influence with his position, but only ever does what he believes is best to support Eden.
  • Sparing Them the Dirty Work: He's willing to take underhanded actions for the benefit of Eden so that Eden doesn't sully her reputation by doing them herself.
