* NiceJobFixingItVillain: If Prothero had trusted his initial misgivings and not agreed to give the man in room five virtually unrestricted access to gardening chemicals, he wouldn't have been able to blow up Larkhill and go on to become V.

to:

* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: During a conversation with his bodyguards he brings up his hobby of collecting dolls completely unprompted, purely so he can stress that it doesn't mean he's gay. His bodyguard's reaction implies that he brings this up a lot.

* SerialRapist: Every Sunday he rapes an underage girl delivered to him by a child porn agency, calling it "the children's hour".

to:

* WouldHurtAChild: Implied by the fact that his weekly rape sessions are known as "the children's hour" and that he considers fifteen-year-olds to be almost too old.

During the conversation he bragged about [[OffstageVillainy using his new-found power to arrest a married couple, beat up the husband, then perform a strip search on the man's wife and feel her up]].

* BaldOfEvil: Adam Susan is portrayed as a pudgy man in a suit with no hair.

* CharacterCatchphrase: When addressing any of his subordinates, he always ends their discussions with the phrase "May England prevail!".

* FreudianSlip: Due to considering himself to be a loveless person whose only true love is FATE, this repressed desire for love manifests when he accidently says "I love you" to a subordinate he's addressing. Fortunately for him, he's able to dismiss this before the subordinate starts asking any awkward questions.

* ArmoredClosetGay: Implied by the fact that he claims that dolls are for "pooftahs" while also collecting dolls himself.

to:

* ArmoredClosetGay: Implied by the fact comments by Dascombe, and that he claims that Prothero himself immediately defends his doll-collecting hobby by bringing up the supposed sexual adventures of his youth to prove his masculine bonafides, sidestepping any explanation of why the dolls are for "pooftahs" while also collecting dolls himself.themselves would appeal to a "military man".

* MilesGloriosus: He likes to brag with his bodyguards, who are actual hardass soldiers, about their shared military service, as if he shared experiences similar to theirs. Prothero was [[SoldiersAtTheRear the director of a concentration camp]], his military service consisted of lording over and bullying people who were too starved, beaten down, or broken by the medical experimentation being done on them to resist. And as seen with his DirtyCoward entry, when he's one on one with V he shows his true colors.
* MoralMyopia: He cares far more about his ''doll collection'' than he did about the people he tortured at Larkhill. And seeing the dolls burned in the same ovens where he roasted people makes him lose his mind.
* MouthOfSauron: He speaks over the radio for the FATE mainframe, and has such a perfect voice for it that much of the population believes that his voice really is the voice of FATE. For this reason V taking him out of the picture ends up having a subtle but profound effect; when Prothero can no longer perform as the voice of FATE, the Norsefire government is forced to quickly find a lesser replacement. Once that happens it begins to break the public's nearly absolute trust in FATE, and though Norsefire tries they can no longer maintain certain illusions for the public, including the illusion that Norsefire is infallible and invincible.
* PsychopathicManchild: His Doll collection and his often petty and immature personality turn him into this.

* FatalFlaw: His extremism, as well as his lack of foresight when it comes to creating the society that he wants to make. For all his brilliant scheming and systemic take down of Norsefire, he doesn't seem to know or care on how he'll make a society out of the ashes of Norsefire. All he knows how to do is destroy, so when he has to ''create'' something, he seems to leave it up to the people who he's freed. But he never seems to realize that people need some sort of structure in order to create a society. Fortunately, he dies before he has the chance of having this flaw bite him.

* MacGyvering: A speciality of his. Being the only physically healthy survivor of the experiment performed on him and his fellow prisoners, he was granded special privileges such as a limited access to gardening supplies. With them, he was able to produce gunpowder, mustard gas, and napalm, all of which he used to stage his escape.

Added DiffLines:

* PsychopathicManchild: Ultimately this is what he is: a pathetic child who wants to feel strong so he doesn't have to deal with his inherent weakness. He conducts himself often like a shy child, though he is responsible for the systematic genocide of dozens, if not thousands of people.
