* NamesTheSame: [[invoked]] Subverted. As listed under RunningGag, he was briefly renamed to [[OneLetterName "A"]], a name shared by '''many''' TPP characters, including two protagonists. However, he was eventually renamed again, giving him a unique name once more.

* GrumpyBear: Averted. He was a grouchy-looking Swadloon for almost no time before he evolved into Leavanny.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To ATV the Venemoth from Red, for being bug-types that didn't do much at the beginning, but had a moment to shine in the Elite 4 by slaying a dragon.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To Admiral from Crystal.

* SpiritualSuccessor: To M4 from Emerald. Even its name, OG, can be seen as a shout out to the gun-touting Azumarill.

* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: To [[LetsPlay/TwitchPlaysPokemonBlack GMYC]], big time. While he's a fanboy of the voices, she does not want to be part of them, going as far as refusing the Pokedex AND a Pokemon. And while GMYC never let ''any'' of his Pokémon evolve and released several of them, Cly never cancelled an evolution (though this was enforced by the streamer) and released none whatsoever.

* TheBusCameBack: Meta-example. The mob wanted a Treecko in Emerald, and finally got one in the team in Black 2, 5 seasons later.

%%* FragileSpeedster / ForMassiveDamage: Two reasons the Mob most often wanted him out of the team. His typing means he'll take 4x damage from Fire and Flying moves.

* {{Badass}}: Has five Level 100 Pokémon, no releases, and successfully captured '''tons''' more legendaries than any other protagonist prior to her. She qualifies.
** BadassAdorable: She's a cute-as-a-button IdolSinger[=/=]ClassyCatBurglar/regular girl, and able to do all of the above.

* {{Badass}}: He tanked Elesa's team on his own. He was able to win while paralyzed and with HP in the red.

* {{Eagleland}}: Type 3 all the way. While she is by all means a hard worker and willing to find her purpose in life, she also [[KleptomaniacHero steals]] in quite a few interpretations, has severe issues about leaving hime, and started out as a SpoiledBrat.

* KleptomaniacHero: Goes with the CatBurglar interpretation, but even outside of that she's interpreted to steal things from the Pokemart.

* IHaveManyNames: The Mob hasn't decided what her name is.

* RefusalOfTheCall: Tried to refuse her Pokedex and her Pokemon.

** Subverted when he learned Bite over Leer (Double Subverted when he learned Ice Beam). Subverted heavily by his characterization.
