Assassins
The Countess of Blood and the most infamous female serial killer in European history. In life, Elisabeth Báthory was a noblewoman who tortured and murdered hundreds of young women and bathed in their blood under the belief it would grant her eternal youth. This version of Elisabeth has fully accepted her evil nature and assumed the identity of "Carmilla": a fictional vampire from one of the earliest examples of the vampire fiction genre. She is an unrepentant murderer whose noble upbringing makes her incapable of regarding others as human; a true monster of history who spent her life pursuing nothing but her own selfish desires with cruelty and sadism.
- Cold Ham: While she retains an impressive dramatic flair, Carmilla is generally much calmer and more controlled than her energetic younger self.
- Femme Fatale: Gorgeous and seductive, but also a serial killer.
- Immortality Seeker: Her wish for the grail is eternal youth. It's noted that if she actually got it she would stop wasting her time with murdering people and just go become a rather effective governor.
The fourth head of the Sanson family, which had performed executions for generations in Paris. His lifestyle was extremely wealthy, but he was often scorned because of his occupation - something that became a source of anguish in his youth. His house loved and respected the King and Queen and showed great pity for the citizens governed by them. It has been said they even provided cutting-edge medical technology, cultivated from executions, free of charge to the needy.
Times were not always peaceful for Charles. During the French Revolution, he executed all sorts of men. He conducted further executions with the guillotine, eventually witnessing the execution of his beloved royalty, King Louis XIV and his wife, Marie Antoinette.
Appears in Orléans as one of Jeanne Alter's Servants before showing in Chaldea.
- Anti-Hero: Can be seen as one. In fact, one of his skills, aptly named Executioner, gives him a damage boost against units with Evil alignment.
- Artistic License – History: In the records, it was not Sanson himself who personally executed Queen Marie Antoinette, but his son Henri
. - Bilingual Bonus: His sword has the words L'Epee de Justice inscribed on it, meaning "Sword of Justice".
One of the nineteen Hassan-i-Sabbah, the Persian "Old Man of the Mountain" led an assassination organization originating in the Middle East. While he was a legendary leader who became the origin of the word Assassin, nineteen different people took up the position of Hassan-i-Sabah over many years. Supposedly there are 18 successive generations of the Old Man of the Mountain, and each one is said to be an expert that cultivated a special technique.
An ominous outward appearance produced by a skull mask, a dark robe, and a pole-like right arm. The face underneath the skull mask has been scrapped off, so he is faceless. From the moment he succeeded the professional name of "Hassan-i-Sabbah", everything he had until then as an individual was thrown away.
Appears as a Blackened Servant during Fuyuki.
- Affably Evil: He is an Assassin, but it doesn't mean he has to be rude with others, treating most Servants respectfully and overall not attempting to cause trouble.
- Consummate Professional: As both a Servant and an Assassin, he's a loyal and polite ally.
- Cool Mask: A (somewhat emotive) skull mask, like many of his fellow Hassans.
Jing Ke was an assassin who plotted the assassination of the First Emperor of China and fell one step short of accomplishing it. An individual who could have repainted the history of China, if it weren't for external hindrance. Jing Ke not only made a living out of assassinations but also was a hedonist individual who loved reading, swordsmanship, chats with her wise friend, and - more than anything - alcohol.
Having a present to offer the First Emperor, obtaining a knife dipped in poison meant for assassinations, but just before the time for implementing the plan came, the man who was supposed to support her became unable to move out of fear and Jing Ke had to pursuit the assassination all alone; but maybe due to the Emperor's good luck, she failed to catch him by a narrow margin.
In the story, she appears as an ally in Rome before being recruited to Chaldea.
- Assassination Attempt: Famous for nearly assassinating Qin Shi Huang. The only reason it is a nearly it's because of her conspirator bailing out at the last second and missing the mark for a true fatal blow.
- Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Not exactly dizzy, but she loves some good old drinks.
- The Hedonist: A very prominent drinker in Chaldea.
The mysterious person from the novel set in the 19th century, the titular Phantom of the Opera. He's probably the individual that became the basis for the novel. Living in a huge labyrinth waterway beneath the opera house, he was charmed by a young actress, guided her into becoming a songstress, and performed serial murders for the sake of his unfulfilled love.
Appears as one of Jeanne Alter's Servants before arriving in Chaldea.
- Ax-Crazy: Phantom seems normal on the surface, but any mention of his Christine can send him crazy - as Caster Gilles demonstrates.
- Charm Person: His Siren Song skill allows him to charm female enemies.
- Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Very much so.
- Facial Horror: What he at least claims is under his mask.
- Historical Villain Upgrade: In-universe, he has the Innocent Monster skill at a fairly high rank. This is because his mask and deformities were added by later sources, while the original was an unremarkable-looking but quite-mad murderer. His Bond CE represents him trying to puzzle out how much of what he remembers about himself is true and how much just the result of his legend, with little success thanks to his Mental Pollution.
A swordsman described as a worthy rival of one of Japan's prominent master swordsmen: Miyamoto Musashi. Sasaki was heralded as a genius of swordsmanship who mastered the Ganryuu school of swordplay at a young age.
However, in the Nasuverse, "Sasaki Kojiro" was actually a fictional character; a blended conglomeration of stories about various swordsmen who fought against Musashi. As it is impossible for the Throne of Heroes to contain the soul of a fictional person, the "Sasaki Kojirou" summoned here is actually the person who is closest to the descriptions of Kojirou: a nameless swordsman from a humble farmstead who created the legendary "Swallow Reversal" technique attributed to Kojirou's legend. However, this restriction has been loosened due to the unique circumstances of the Grand Order and Chaldea's FATE system, allowing him to be summoned as a regular Servant.
- Affably Evil: Even if he's somewhat snarky, he's always polite and has respect for his opponent. The only reason we know he's "evil" is because of his alignment.
- Handsome Lech: To the point of flirting while battling, even though he does admit that he isn't very lucky with the ladies.
- Long-Haired Pretty Boy: He hits basically every check mark for this.
- Master Swordsman: In the stories, he was one of the few men able to match Musashi's prowess with a katana, and his Tsubame Gaeshi, albeit not a proper Noble Phantasm, has all the markings of one.
The oldest of the Gorgon Sisters that appears in Greek Mythology. A goddess born as a perfected idol, an ideal woman and the embodiment of men's longing. No matter what kind of gentleman they are, he will praise and flatter her. Although endowed with elegance and refinement, if one were to get to the core of her character, it is also possible to say that she is extremely lazy and exceedingly coldhearted towards those she doesn't care about to the point of making the watchdog of the underworld shudder.
She appears in Rome as a minor ally before being recruited to Chaldea.
- Actually Not a Vampire: Despite not being a vampire, her blood-drinking is reflected in one of her Personal Skills, Blood-Sucking/Vampirism.
- The Ageless: Along with Euryale, this sets them apart from their little sister Medusa, who ages normally.
- Berserk Button: Her treatment of Medusa is a big one to Izuku, mainly the usage of the Useless expression.
- Big Sister Bully: She and Euryale enjoy bullying Medusa, something which Izuku strives to curb in their behavior, especially when they call her "Useless".
- Charm Person: While she's a poor Assassin otherwise, Stheno is notably excellent in alluring men with her mystical looks.
- Head Butting Heroes: Her Big Sister Bully attitude towards Medusa creates much friction between her and the usually affable Izuku.
- Situational Sword: Smile of the Stheno is a Noble Phantasm extremely powerful against those allured by Stheno's looks but it's not so powerful otherwise.
