Grimes Family

    Rick

Richard D. Grimes

Voiced by: Ian Hanlin

The Sheriff's Deputy of King County, shot in the line of duty and having just awoke from a coma into the world of the walking dead.

  • And Then John Was a Zombie: If you choose to let Shane lead the group, he turns after Shane stabs him to death. Shane ends his suffering with a headshot.
  • Death by Adaptation: If you choose to let Shane lead the group, he is killed in their fight to the death, and shot for good when he turns.
  • Mythology Gag: If Shane is chosen to lead the group, he stabs Rick to death, allowing him to reanimate, being shot in the head by Shane. This is reminiscent of Rick's fate in the comics, where he reanimates upon being shot to death and has to be shot in the head by Carl.

    Carl

Carl Grimes

Voiced by: Aeden Siapkaris

Son of Rick and Lori Grimes.

  • Death by Adaptation: If Shane decides to save Maggie/Beth rather than taking the medical supplies, Carl will die of his gunshot wound.
  • Mythology Gag: In the trailer, a teenaged Carl reads out a letter he wrote to Shane, expressing his absolute trust in and appreciation for him. This is similar to the letter Carl wrote to Rick on the last day of his life in Season 8 of the series.

    Lori

Lori Grimes

Wife of Rick Grimes and mother of Carl. When the apocalypse came and Rick was assumed dead, she struck up a relationship with Shane, which came to a screeching halt when Rick awoke from his coma and reunited with his family. This causes some tension between the two men.

Atlanta Camp

    Glenn

A local pizza boy turned survivor.

  • Death by Adaptation: In the final showdown against the Governor, if you choose to spare his life, the Governor takes it instead.
  • Off with His Head!: If you choose to spare his life in the finale.
  • The Sneaky Guy: His skill tree is focused on enhancing stealth.

    T-Dog

Voiced by: IronE Singleton

A former college football player and church driver.

  • Adaptational Villainy: If you choose to defuse the situation between him and Merle, he will go on to become the Governor's right-hand man. Taken even further if you spare the undead Penny, of which T-Dog will become the new Governor.
  • Adrenaline Makeover: If he ends up the Governor's ally, he will grow out his hair, a goatee, don a leather jacket, and have a sickle mounted onto his bandaged stump of an arm.
  • Beard of Evil: Grows out a sinister goatee if he becomes the Governor's ally.
  • The Dragon: To the Governor if he is left on the roof, replacing Merle's canonical role.
  • Kick the Dog: If Michonne spares Penny, T-Dog will kill her anyway, in front of her father.
  • The Starscream: If Michonne spares Penny, T-Dog takes it upon himself to put the little girl down and becomes the new Governor.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: If he's left on the roof, he will survive well past his canonical death in "Killer Within", all the way up to the mid-Season 4 assault on the prison.
  • In Spite of a Nail: If Rick decided to defuse the conflict between T-Dog and Merle, the latter will take the opportunity to wait until everyone leaves the roof, subdue T-Dog, and handcuff him instead, leading the man to cut off his arm in desperation, be found by Philip Blake, and become his right-hand man. Furthermore, if Michonne spares Philip's undead daughter Penny on this route, T-Dog will take over the role of the Governor.
  • Politically Incorrect Hero/Villain: If you choose to defuse his conflict with Merle, he will call the latter a "cracker". In all fairness, Merle was the one being racist towards him. When he shows back up later, during his fight with Daryl, he will call the latter the same thing.

    Shane

Shane Walsh

Voiced by: Matt Lowe

Deputy of King County, best friend of Rick Grimes, and family friend of the Grimes family, of whom he took care of when the dead started rising.
