Ichabod Crane
Played by: Tom Zohar (2017 Stage Production), Andy Mientus (2018 Reading, 2020 Concept Album)
An insecure gay teacher from New York City, who moves upstate after being fired due to drug abuse. He has a tricky relationship with Katrina and Brom, following their relationship issues, and temporary split as he wishes to be close to both of them. At the end of the play, he dies by being shoved off of a bridge, presumably by a disguised Brom.
Tropes include:
- Adaptational Sexuality: In most tellings of the Sleepy Hollow story, Ichabod and Brom fight over Katrina. In Tarrytown, Ichabod is in love with Brom.
- Camp Gay: Ichabod has his feminine tendencies.
- Closet Key: Wants to be this for Brom. He's not, but Brom allows him to think he could be.
- Did Not Get the Girl
- I Just Want to Be Loved: Much of his pain and past drug use stemmed from a desire to be loved, and a fear that no one could.
- Recovered Addict: After being fired from his last job due to drugs, Ichabod checks himself into NA meetings. He quits drugs, and stops drinking (for the most part), until Brom tricks him into taking pills under the guise that they would hook up.

The principals' assistant at the school Ichabod teaches at. She wishes to leave Tarrytown and do something more with her life, than be stuck in an unhappy marriage. Throughout the show, she struggles with her relationships with Brom and Ichabod, before temporarily splitting from Brom.Tropes include:
- Awful Wedded Life: Resents Brom and never loved him, only getting married because of an unplanned pregnancy.
