The Tankmen

The protagonists.
    Captain

Sergeant John Captain

The leader of the Tankmen.
    Steve

Steve

Captain's right-hand man.
  • Distressed Dude: Is held captive by the enemy faction in Tankmen Infinity.
  • Groin Attack: His fate at the end of Tankmen Infinity. While Captain and his troops successfully kill his captors, one of them was holding a knife over Steve's dick, and said knife lands right in his dick after the guy is killed.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Captain.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Likes Titanic (1997) and wants his birthday cake to be pink.
  • Series Mascot: Technically speaking, his tank is one half of Newgrounds' iconic logo. Its rider has the same design as Captain and the rest of the Tankmen.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Rare male example. While his glasses-shaped goggles, normal name, enjoyment of the first half of Titanic (1997) and wish for a pink birthday cake might tip him off as a weakling, he's still the one riding the series' eponymous tank, and he savagely kills a Thugman with a knife in Tankmen 2.
  • The Smart Guy: He specifically cites the Pythagorean theorem when killing a Thugman.
  • This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: "Shoulda used the Pythagorean theorem, bitch!"
    Bill
A recruit of the Tankmen who gets killed in battle.
  • Bandaged Face: Tankmen .5 reveals that his face is covered with bandages, leaving only his hair and left eye visible. It is unknown if the bandages came off by the time he passed training, as he's silhouetted while putting on his helmet.
  • Disappeared Dad: His wife is pregnant, but just as he gives the news to his fellow soldiers, he's sniped by Private Skittles.
  • Doomed by Canon: Tankmen .5 shows how he got recruited. And he gets killed a minute into the first episode.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: He was only onscreen for a few seconds in the first episode before getting sniped. He gets a bit more expansion in Tankmen .5.
    Ted
A sniper for the Tankmen.
    Tankgirl
The Tankmen's resident female soldier.
  • Male Gaze: The other Tankmen sometimes hound her for having... assets. Justified, as she's the only girl shown onscreen, so every straight Tankman would have to go to her.
  • Only Sane Woman: She's the most focused and isn't very amused by her comrades' idiocy. That said, she's not all perfect, as she did accidentally drop a knife through Steve's dick.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The only female soldier.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Isn't too happy dealing with her fellow soldiers' tomfoolery.

The Enemy Faction

The antagonists.
    Bad Captain
The enemy captain.
  • Big Bad: He's the one who the Tankmen must battle to gain the first disc of Titanic. Subverted once the fight begins, as the two factions immediately call a truce to just watch both halves of the movie together.
  • The Comically Serious: Is more straight-minded in comparison to his right-hand man Tim.
  • No Name Given: His name is never stated.
  • Real Men Wear Pink: He likes Titanic (1997), specifically the first half, believing that watching the second half is pointless without the Character Development.
    Tim
Bad Captain's right hand man.
    Private Skittles
The enemy faction's resident sniper.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Is clearly a teenager, and yet the enemy faction still considered him to be recruit material.
  • Cold Sniper: Snipes Bill with no remorse.
  • Dramatic Irony: After getting out of an embarrassing call with his dad, he snipes Bill, who was just announcing to Captain and Steve that he was going to be a dad.
  • Hero Killer: He kills Bill, ironically after getting out of a chat with his dad.
  • His Name Really Is "Barkeep": Tankmen .5 reveals that his name really is Skittles.

Others

    The Thugmen
A group of thuggish mercs in sports gear.
  • Big Bad: Of Tankmen 2, with the episode's plot being their petty conflict with Steve.
  • Sore Loser: The leader doesn't take well to Steve beating him in field goal, constantly demanding rematches.
    Skittles' Dad
The father of Private Skittles.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Skittles doesn't like talking to him.
  • Bumbling Dad: His attempt to educate Skittles on The Birds and the Bees in Tankmen 1.5.
  • Captain Obvious: Men do, indeed, have a penis, and women do, indeed, have a vagina.
  • The Talk: Why Skittles hates listening to him. He's trying to tell his son about puberty and the changes his body will be going through even as he's got a sniper rifle with Captain in its sights.
