SAMBEL Families
Maureen Ashby
The wife, later widow, of Keith McGee. She has ties to the SOA through her late husband and ties to the True IRA through her older brother, Father Kellan Ashby.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Maureen is polite and considerate of others, but when Cherry admits to lying about Liam's whereabouts, she grabs her by the throat and delivers a harsh warning about never betraying the Club.
- Mama Bear: For her daughter Trinity but also, oddly enough, for Jax presumably out of leftover loyalty to John Teller.
- Secret Other Family: Maureen and Trinity were this to John Teller, although only Maureen knew.
- Secret Relationship: She had one with John Teller. It's implied that John loved and trusted Maureen more than even Gemma, continuing to write letters to her right up until his death.
Maureen Ashby's adult daughter and McGee's stepdaughter. Her mother Maureen states that she was 18 when she gave birth to Trinity. She is unaware that John Teller, the founder of the Sons of Anarchy, was her real father.
- Betty and Veronica: Trinity was the Veronica to Tara's Betty over Jax's Archie. Up until their familial reveal.
- Brother–Sister Incest: Averted with Trinity and her half-brother Jax as they almost had sex but their mothers stopped them.
- Fiery Redhead: "Damn it, Ma, I'm not a child!"
- Secret Other Family: She's John Teller's secret daughter, a fact that even she doesn't know.
- Surprise Incest: With Jax, her half-brother. Gemma and Maureen walk in on them before they go too far.
A girl from Indian Hills, Nevada, whose real name is Rita Zambell. After leaving her abusive husband and burning down their condo, she aligns herself with the Devil's Tribe (a friendly independent motorcycle club now patched over to the Sons of Anarchy) and calls herself "Cherry" (after her beloved dead dog), posing as a "hangaround." She takes an interest in Half-Sack when SAMCRO comes to visit, but sleeps with Clay, who wants to punish Half-Sack for voicing his sexual attraction to Gemma.
- Domestic Abuse: It's inferred her marriage involved violent abuse, due to her referring to her husband as 'sadistic'.
- Put on a Bus: When Stahl threatens her with prison time, the club sends Cherry off to Northern Ireland to avoid Stahl's clutches. She becomes an employee of Maureen Ashby and old lady to Liam O'Neil.
- The Bus Came Back: During the Season 3 Ireland arc, she makes a small cameo appearance.
- Woman Scorned: Her 'sadistic' ex wouldn't grant her a divorce, so Cherry stole his car, his money and their dog. She also burned their condo down, and it's implied he was inside it at the time.
Chibs' estranged wife.
- Informed Ability: Gemma mentions how Fiona is one of the only three women she's afraid of. However, she doesn't seem to be particularly badass when compared to the other female characters on the show. She's mostly...stoic. Except for that point where she kicked Gemma's ass when she pulled a gun on Jimmy O.
- Jerkass: To just about everyone. She's closed-off, stoic and rude.
- Working with the Ex: Working alongside Chibs to take down Jimmy.
The teenage daughter of Chibs Telford and Fiona Larkin, raised by Fiona and Jimmy O'Phelan.
- Ambiguously Brown: She has a black mother and white father.
- Morality Pet: For Chibs and Fiona.
- Wife Husbandry: Might've been on the receiving end, unless Jimmy was bluffing.
Excommunicated SAMBEL Members
A founding member now based in Northern Ireland and husband of Maureen Ashby. President of SAMBEL, the SoA chapter in Belfast.
- Alas, Poor Villain: His death is treated as an unfortunate necessity by the Club and Clay.
- Badass Biker: Being the President of SAMBEL requires this.
- Bald of Evil: He's an outlaw biker, but he's also working against SAMCRO for money.
- Disney Villain Death: Clay kills him by pushing him off a building.
- Face Death with Dignity: He accepts his impending death with some apologies, but little fear.
- Only in It for the Money: When Clay asks why he turned, McGee states that the outlaw life hasn't given him much in the way of retirement. He just needed the money, but things got out of control.
- Shadow Archetype: To Clay. In many ways, Keith embodies his fear of becoming too old for the MC life. Despite his years of service to the club, he grows weary of being a biker, and ultimately betrays SAMCRO to the IRA so that he can finally earn enough money to retire and live in peace."This life doesn't offer much in the way of retirement."
- Turn Coat: McGee turned on his fellow club members, working for Jimmy O and sabotaging SAMCRO's efforts to find Abel.
- Tragic Villain: It's hard not to feel a little sorry for him, considering his desperation and his unwillingness to hurt the Club directly.
- Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: Overweight, balding McGee is married to the much younger and rather pretty Maureen Ashby.
The Sgt.-at-Arms of SAMBEL, also involved with Jimmy O'Phelan.
- Asshole Victim: Nobody, not even Cherry, felt sorry for his death, acknowledged as a liar and a rat.
- Cold-Blooded Torture: He takes it at the hands of Sean Casey.
- The Dragon: As Sergeant-at-Arms, he's this to Keith McGee.
- Fighting Irish: He participates in bare-knuckle boxing.
- He Knows Too Much: The idiot gives Jimmy O his exact location, not knowing that Jimmy plans to kill him to tie up a loose end. However, the Sons get to Liam first.
