Long ago, whales were a common sight in the seas bordering Japan, with many roaming the waters to their heart's content. While their majesty and power was something to behold, these creatures became a victim to humanity's ever-burning hunger, with many being hunted for their meat and blubber. While many of these slain cetaceans merely sunk to the ocean floor to rot, one's anger at their fate allowed them to return to the land of the living. Now a vengeful yokai, this whale cursed all who see it to fall to disaster, be it disease, famine, fires, or otherwise. With the Season of Worlds in full swing, the hunter has become the hunted in the face of the divine, with humanity doomed to become victims to the eternal wrath of Bake Kujira.
