The Bloodfang Association is a group of witches founded by the Sole Survivor of the Wolfheart Royal line explicitly for revenge against The Church.

    In General
  • The Cake Is a Lie: Recruits are drawn in by promises of safety and protection against The Church. In truth, the leader just sees them as disposable warriors to use and exploit.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: They focus on witches with combat powers and only combat powers. This makes their association vastly inferior to Tilly's "Sleeping Island" witches in almost all respects.
  • Proud Warrior Race Guy: Invoked. Their leader repeatedly, and literally, beats into their heads that combat prowess is all that matters.
  • The Spartan Way: Invoked. The training regiment they go through is ridiculously savage, even for the trope namer. Witches "rescued" by this organization are given an impossible benchmark, and if they fail to meet that benchmark, they are horribly whipped "for laziness" and then forced to try again. Should they actually meet that benchmark, they have to endure a harsher one.
  • Virtue Is Weakness: Teamwork? Harmony? A safe harbor where nobody has to worry about having enough to eat? HA! All that just makes you lap dogs! The leader wants starving, ravenous wolves.
  • What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: Bloodfang's creed. They believe any ability that isn't combat related is deemed worthless and expendable.

    Heidi Morgan
The founder and leader of the Bloodfang Association. She is related to the late Wolf King.
  • Ambition Is Evil: She wished to become the new ruler of the Kingdom of Wolfheart.
  • Evil Redhead: Is described to have short red hair and is a complete bitch.
  • Exact Words: A victim of this. Roland promises not to execute her if she testifies honestly about her organization, and intel concerning The Church, but he never promised he'd provide her protection if others who had a grudge against her, like Ashes, showed up...
  • It's All About Me: All she cares about is her own desires. She doesn't really care about anyone else, even her "sisters".
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: She markets all her extreme actions and crimes as a necessary evil to deal with the deprivations of The Church. In reality, all she cares about is her revenge for The Church's attack against the Wolfheart Kingdom and rise to power.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: For all the witches she condemned to torture and certain death, she is strangled slowly by Ashes while completely helpless.
  • She Who Fights Monsters: Although completely unaware of it, her desire for revenge against the depravity of The Church made her exactly like them.
  • The Social Darwinist: She only allows combat witches in the group as she sees all non-combat witches as objects whose only value is to be given to nobles.

    Iffy
A younger witch in the Bloodfang Association sent to Graycastle as a mole to make contact with Prince Roland in order to make a deal behind Tilly's back.
  • The Atoner: She deeply regrets being separated from her friend when "rescued" by the Bloodfang Association, and the fact that she tried to kill Maggie.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When it looked like a Demon General was about to kill Nightingale, Anna, Maggie, and a bunch of other witches, Iffy, of all people, picks up the Sigil of God's Will. Cue an Oh, Crap! from the demon general.
  • Break the Haughty: Roland lets Maggie retaliate against Iffy by letting them duel. Iffy, being a combat witch, thought she would win handily... then Maggie pulls out a revolver.
  • Covered in Scars: Her back shows how badly abused she is due to all the scars from the whipping she got as part of her "combat training" under Heidi Morgan.
  • Heel–Face Turn: She went from brainwashed warrior to trusted sister of the Witch Union.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Combined with Category Traitor. She tried to crush Maggie to death in her magic cage both because she actually felt inferior to Roland's non-combat Witch Union, and because Iffy felt that Maggie being happy and content working with "commoners" was a disgrace to the pride of witches.
  • My Greatest Failure: Letting her friend be taken away and "sold" to nobles by Heidi Morgan, despite the fact that she was completely powerless to stop it.
  • Scars Are Forever: Even Nana can't heal the scars on her back because they've been there too long.

    Softfeathers
A witch that was sent along with Iffy to make contact with Roland.
