The RPC Authority, also simply known as "the Authority", is a powerful secret organization whose goal is to contain anomalies and to study them to see if they can be useful to humanity.

Tropes about the Authority
- Ancient Conspiracy: The Authority is an ancient organization dating all the way back to the 1500s.
- Anti-Hero: The Authority works for the good of humankind but not all their methods can be considered 100% heroic.
- Artifact Collection Agency: As part of its mission is collecting artifacts to research, protect and contain them to protect normalcy.
- Badass Army: The Mobile Specialized Teams
, the private army of the Authority. They're all trained to deal with different types of anomalies. - Benevolent Conspiracy: The Authority does what it does mainly to protect normalcy in general and humanity in particular.
- Black-and-Gray Morality: The Authority's mission, while for an ultimately good goal, isn't free of controversial choices.
- Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: Depending on the lethality level, the Authority classifies each anomaly with a different color:
- White is used for anomalies that have no chance of being lethal and/or are entirely beneficial.
- Yellow is used for anomalies whose lethal conditions are situational and/or can be easily avoided.
- Orange is used for anomalies that are capable of lethality but are not guaranteed to display it.
- Red is used for anomalies that are actively lethal.
- Purple is used for anomalies that are capable of exterminating life en masse and/or entire populations.
- Black is used for anomalies that are lethal enough to cause an apocalyptic scenario and/or end all human life.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Research, Protection, Containment. Those are the Authority's mission and they are also the initials that make up its name.
- Expy: Of the SCP Foundation, which is a given since the RPC site is a
Spiritual Successor to the SCP one. - Evil Counterpart: What the RCPA is to the RPC Authority: an authoritarian version of the Authority from an alternate universe that took over its reality's Earth and now seeks to take over the Authority's.
- Greek Letter Ranks: Depending on how hard they are to contain, the Authority classifies each anomaly with a different Greek letter:
- Alpha is used for anomalies that can be contained with minimal difficulty.
- Beta is used for anomalies that present a degree of difficulty or unpredictability in their containment. Anomalies that are sentient/sapient/autonomous are usually automatically classified as Beta regardless of their other abilities.
- Gamma is used for anomalies that present an elevated difficulty of containment. These anomalies require containment measures that are usually inconsistent, expensive or complex.
- Omega is used for anomalies that are extremely hard to contain, if not outright uncontainable.
- "It" Is Dehumanizing: All the anomalies are referred to as "it".
- Masquerade: The Authority's mission is to maintain the illusion of normalcy and keep the existence of the anomalous a secret.
- The Omniscient Council of Vagueness: The Board of Global Directors, also known as the Global Directorate, is the main executive body of not only the Presidium but the Authority at large. They consist of three Global Directors that represent the three Authority divisions, and nine that represent the continents of the world.

The Board of Global Directors, otherwise known as the "Directorate", is the main executive body of not only the Presidium but the Authority at large. Typically, the Board is comprised of eleven elected officials, each representing either one of three divisions or of their respective Regional Commands.

Born from the fallout of an unsanctioned Research testing session for an unknown RPC, the Office of Ethics and Review's (OEaR) mission is two-fold: to evaluate the operations of the Authority and to investigate violations of Authority Mandates. Through Secrecy; Darkness Prevails
As part of an internal reorganization in 1947, the Office of Information Records and Security (OIRS) was established to preserve and safeguard all information generated and gathered by the Authority. Tasked with keeping records, information redaction and security, and the management of individual security clearances; OIRS staff members handle a critical job for the continued operation and secrecy of the Authority. As a result, all staff belonging to the office are specifically appointed by the Board to maintain internal security. Office of Human Resources
Authority personnel are the finest in their respective fields; hardened soldiers, brilliant scientists, even the most elite janitors. The sources for these men and women are as varied as the Authority itself, from personal recommendations to bureaucratic filters for notable personnel. Human Resources collates and acts on all this information, working with the other Divisions to keep the Authority staffed. Beyond sourcing for open positions via the Department of Divisional Recruitment, HR performs two critical supplementary roles for the Authority.

The Office of Analysis and Science researches anomalies relating to the different sciences and fields of study that pertain to the natural world. The purpose of this office is to discover ways to base the objects the Authority encounters in some form of general scientific understanding and to expand our own knowledge on these subjects. This office includes a large number of subsidiaries, each focused on a specific field of study such as the Department of Biology, of Physics, Geology, Psychology, etc. Anomaly Experimentation Team

The Protectorate is a coalition of firefighters, rescue workers, and medical specialists established around the globe in independent outposts that are the first responders to any emergency, disaster, or catastrophe involving the anomalous and beyond. Their number one priority above all is to reduce the loss of human life by evacuating and rescuing civilians from any danger. They are given a wide range of tools to do so, but are expected to keep their tools from their imperiled's vision, as they are the only branch of the Authority that actively and repeatedly interacts with civilians. An amalgamation of various legacy Authority space programs, the AEDF uses advanced technology to operate beyond the Earth's atmosphere. Launched from Sites across the Earth, AEDF satellites, stations and ships provide logistical lines, ultra-high-altitude reconnaissance, and high-speed transport across the Solar System. The AEDF takes great pride in its status as the shield of the Sol system, and is constantly tracking, monitoring and, if necessary, neutralizing both anomalous and non-anomalous threats to Earth. The Authority Central Intelligence is a specialist wing in the Protection Division responsible for the coordination of intelligence, counter-intelligence, cyber security, and espionage networks in and out of Authority facilities. Operatives affiliated with the ACI observe and track various leads pertaining to military, government, and commercial networks involving Authority interests, concerns, and threats. Mobile Specialized Teams is the collective designation given to groups of military personnel specializing in various functions pertaining to the capture/tracking of anomalous objects and elimination of hostile groups. MSTs do not pertain to infantry functions, instead exclusively operating under select fields that require specific skill sets. MSTs are additionally provided independent arsenals and designations (callsigns) to assist in operations and identification.- Badass Army: Being a private army trained to deal with different type of anomalies, this trope was to be expected.

The Engineering Component is the Containment Department responsible for the construction and upkeep of Authority sites all over the world, and the ones beyond it, as well as managing their infrastructure. Being also the ones responsible for bringing the design plans of Prolab to reality with the greatest of detail, ensuring no mistakes when it comes to the containment of anomalies. They are the greatest minds the Authority has to offer, and they make display of it in every single thing they build.Biomechanical Module
The Biomechanical Module is the coalition of many new engineering groups that have sprung up with the recent exponential increase in technology over the last few years. They are the main provider of some of the Authority's best utility and defensive technology, such as the Omniversal Diving Apparatus, the BTL-34-A1 Battle Mech, and the ECh-Canon mechanical eye.It is also home to the Faber Ferrarius, or "Smiths", one of the very first Divisions of the Authority's predecessor, the Auctoritas Impertus. These long time generational engineers, metalworkers, and designers take great pride in both their seniority and long time service to the Authority, which often puts them at odds with the younger members of the Biomech, such as the recently established Prosthetic and Augmentations departments.
Protocol Laboratory/Prolab
The Prolab, as it is colloquially called, is a specialized research and bureaucratic department responsible for creating effective Containment Protocols for RPCs. A mix of scientists, engineers, and liaison officers, the Prolab has an equal hand in the construction blueprint for a cell and the highly specific instructions given to site guards.Frequently working with specialists from Research, security experts from Protection, and engineers from the Component, the Prolab represents the heart of their Division's mission: to build the shackles so Research can do its job and Protection's effort and blood is not wasted.
Authority Security Force
The Authority Security Force is the defense wing in the Containment Division responsible for the general defense, security, and coordination of logistics within the Authority's sites, mobile command centers, and listening stations. The ASF serves as a rapid response force in the event of an internal or external threat within Authority installations, being able to rapidly organize its manpower within minutes of an occurring incident. All ASF personnel are additionally trained to specialize in various combat and support roles.

The Union is the department responsible for the general representation of miscellaneous site staff. Janitors, cooks, low-level technicians and logistics personnel, and others; the people that keep the lights on, the facilities livable, and equipment maintained. Giving a voice to low-level staff in Containment is often seen as strange by the other Divisions, yet behind the absurdity is a time-proven expedience.

C&D Resources manages all housing, acquisitions, and logistics of subjects for involuntary testing, used for impromptu emergency disposal of dangerous or anomalous material, serving in investigative operations with unknown, potentially lethal factors, and for general Protectorate fodder. The C&D's prime directive is limiting undue and inhumane use of CSDs (Confined Subject Disposables), and ensuring all efforts are made to preserve their safety and well beings.
