Go To

Much like the anime it's based on, "My Hero Academia - Outcasts" has a huge onslaught of characters. Because of this, many tropes are featured.

Warning! Some characters featured are Walking Spoilers! Don't worry though, they will be marked appropriately.

Main Characters

    Yuriko Hisakawa
The protagonist of the story, Hisakawa is a Japanese hero veteran in her late fifties. She shows examples of:
  • Berserk Button: She gets rather irritated with Aizawa when he acts careless about his students.
    • It's also referenced that she doesn't let anyone (besides Toshinori) compare her to her mother.
There was only one person alive who was allowed to compare her to her mother, and he was in her arms.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Hisakawa is referenced to not have the cleanest past. So much so that Nezu says that Hero Commission views her as a threat.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: Despite being visually impaired, Hisakawa uses her quirk to repeatedly shoot stuff.
    • She shoots a drug-filled bat out of Fran's hand.
    • She shoots a gun out out of a criminal's hand.
  • Invisible Parents: Subverted. While her parents' whereabouts haven't yet been mentioned in the novel, the Word of God confirms where they are.
    • Yuriko's mom, Atsuko, was confirmed by the creator to have passed away when Yuriko was in her late twenties.
    • Yuriko's dad is absent.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Yuriko is the red oni to Toshinori 's blue.
    • Alternatively, she acts as the blue oni to 2-A's red.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: The author has referenced on Instagram that Hisakawa has some traumatic experiences under her belt.
  • The Protagonist: She is the main character of the fanfiction. We mainly follow her and her development.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Toshinori states that, in the event that the commission threatened Hisakawa to her face, he wouldn't be able to stop her.
Toshinori (to Nezu): "They took everything away from her. If I tried, she'd steamroll over me."

    2-A (shared tropes)
This is a second-year Heroics Class, now taught by Yuriko Hisakawa. This class has gone through three teachers before landing on their current one. Most of them seem to collectively be in a rebellious phase.

These are tropes shared by two or members of Heroics Class 2-A:

  • Accomplice by Inaction: At the start of the novel, the entire class is stuck in detention following a prank pulled by a few of the students (namely, Brown Fran).
  • Arch-Enemy: The class holds grudges with a few people.
    • Shouta Aizawa, their first teacher, is a main one due to him expelling the entire class during their first year.
    • Atsuji Henko. Henko took what Aizawa did a step further, choosing to frame the entire class via a note. Then proceeded to disappear.
Hisakawa: "The reason you all are in detention is for a note none of you knew anything about. It was written by your former teacher, Henko Atsuji..."
    • The Wonderbrats. This is a trio from 2-B that 2-A really take issue with. Daigo almost gets into a fight with them in chapter five, before Hisakawa breaks it up.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: The class is horrified when Hisakawa reveals the existence of the traitorous note, especially since she implies that it was one of them.
  • Nice Guy: Contains a few of them, though some prefer to act as an Antihero.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni:
    • Akechi and Kimura swap roles a few times.
    • Matsura is the blue to Daigo's red.
    • Chitose is the blue to...everybody.
    • Hisakawa is the blue to the class's red.
    • Musen is blue to Daigo's red.
      • Basically everybody is the blue to Daigo's red.
  • True Companions: Although the class is full of rivalries, the peers will absolutely protect each other.
    • Daigo protects Matsura and Shiraishi against the Wonderbrats.
    • Akiyama protects Shiraishi against her nightmares in "MHA: Outcasts - Hijinks".
  • Wacky Homeroom: This class is insane. They come with a cowardly snake, someone who can blind people, an owl, two class representatives who don't seem to be very helpful, more than one emo, a sweet person who could poison you, and someone who tried to gas their teacher.

Former Teachers

The three former teachers of class 2-A. Please note note current tropes are minimal due to one not wanting anything to do with them, one "missing", and one who hasn't received any dialogue yet.

    Shouta Aizawa
The first teacher to class 2-A. Expelled the entire class once. This character contains examples of:
  • Apathetic Teacher: One to 2-A. He doesn't seem to care at all about his former class, and tells Hisakawa to keep them away from his current students.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: During an argument with Hisakawa, he asks her why she wants to be at U.A. When she doesn't give a response, he seems to see this as validation for his behavior.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: As much as he sucks, he's not exactly wrong in saying that 2-A is a bad influence.

    Mr. Tsukomo
The second teacher to class 2-A.This character contains examples of:
  • The Ghost: Downplayed. He's not referenced often, but he is known as the second teacher. He's mentioned in "MHA: Outcasts - Hijinks" to have given Brown Fran detention for stealing attendance.
  • No Full Name Given: As of chapter thirteen, he's only been mentioned by his last name. This is likely a result of him not being mentioned as often as the other two teachers.

    Atsuji Henko
The third teacher to class 2-A, predecessor of Hisakawa.

WARNING: This character is a Walking Spoiler! Spoilers will be left unmarked. Proceed with caution.

This character contains examples of:

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: He frames his entire class of students, and disappears.
  • Chekhov M.I.A.: Nezu mentioned in chapter one that Henko disappeared during the construction of the dormitories, and he has not been located.
  • Creepy High-Pitched Voice: Henko has an abnormally high-pitched voice.
His voice was rather high pitched for a man of his age and filled with disbelief.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Seems to be the red to Song's blue.
  • Slasher Smile: He gives one of these at the end of chapter seven, proclaiming that he can't wait to meet Hisakawa. He especially can't wait to see her reaction to him.
  • Smoking Is Cool: His first ever scene is of him smoking.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Has this reaction when informed that Hisakawa has taken his place as homeroom teacher.
"You're kidding me. They really brought her out of retirement?"
