    In General
The cyber-security company Elliot works for throughout the first season.
  • Foil: To E Corp in the first season, being an example of a well-meaning and competently run business managed by a genuinely good person. Elliot feels some guilt over getting them closed down.
  • My Greatest Failure: They're unable to recover from their role in enabling the 5/9 hack, and Gideon ultimately has to shut the company down.

Played by: Michael Gill

You're never sure about anything unless there's something to be sure about.

Owner of Allsafe Cybersecurity.

  • Alliterative Name
  • A Father to His Men: Non-military example. He genuinely cares about Elliot, and asks Angela to consider the consequences of her actions on her coworkers and their families when she tells him she's confessing to breaking chain of custody with E Corp in order to get Terry Colby to admit E Corp was responsible for her mother's death.
  • Back for the Dead: Dies in one of his first appearances in Season 2.
    • Also a black comedy example. He reappears in Elliot's sitcom delusion in 'm4ster-s1ave' as a highway cop, but gets killed by ALF after less than a minute.
  • Being Good Sucks: One of the most pure-hearted characters in the show, Gideon legitimately cares for and is fair to each and every one of his employees. However, fsociety's actions lead to Allsafe going under, which destroys his livelihood and reputation. He also ends up losing his partner because of it. Later, when Gideon goes to drown his sorrows at a bar, he ends up being shot and killed by a conspiracy theorist who believes Gideon is a crisis actor.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Takes a bullet to the neck and is left to choke on his own blood as he dies.
  • Bury Your Gays: In the first episode of the second season.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Unceremoniously shot in the neck in the first episode of Season 2.
  • Hero Antagonist: He's an upstanding, friendly man who cares about his employees, a polar opposite to the Corrupt Corporate Executives plaguing E Corp, and generally the purest character on the show. However, his suspicion regarding the hacks and the countermeasures he eventually puts in place cause a number of problems for Elliot and Fsociety.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Of everyone on the show, he is the most upstanding and benevolent by far. Elliot puts it best: "Have I told you what I saw when I hacked Gideon? When I peeked into his secrets? I saw a good, honest man."
  • It's All My Fault: Tells Tyrell about Angela breaking chain of custody with E Corp, says he will accept full responsibility for the lapse, and takes personal responsibility for monitoring the infected server after making it into a honeypot.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: In stark contrast to the corporate executives, Gideon is presented as calm, down-to-earth, and dedicated. He also listens to his employees and wants the best for them.
  • Straight Gay: So much so that Gideon's partner requests that he announce his homosexuality to others.
  • Surprisingly Sudden Death
  • Trauma Conga Line: Following the end of the first season, he loses a massive sum of money, is forced to shut down Allsafe and fire all of his valued employees due to their failure to protect E Corp from the hack, is divorced by his husband, and finally gets shot dead in a grimy bar by a 5/9 truther radicalized by Frank Cody who thinks he's in on the conspiracy.

    Ollie

Ollie Parker

Played by: Ben Rappaport

Angela's boyfriend.

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: At first, in spite of Elliot's claims to the contrary, Ollie seems like a nice enough guy. Elliot is quickly proven right after he cheats on Angela and later manipulates her into incriminating herself, all in an effort to save his own ass.
  • Betty and Veronica: He is the cheating and lying selfish bastard Veronica to Elliot's sweet, selfless and kind Betty.
  • Break the Haughty: While not as bad as Tyrell, Ollie's arrogance allows a hacker to steal his private information, as well the accounts of Angela and her father. This quickly leads to Angela learning of his affair, getting framed for sending a virus into All Safe that his girlfriend sent, losing said girlfriend, and generally becoming a mess.
  • Hate Sink: He's a scumbag boyfriend, a Dirty Coward, and a self-aggrandizing blowhard. In a series full of Corrupt Corporate Executives and murderous sociopaths, he's the most memetically reviled character to the fanbase.
  • It's All About Me: Constantly, and one of many reasons Angela finally dumps him.
  • Kick the Dog: For his only appearance in Season 2, he tries to trick Angela into incriminating herself on tape, so he can offer her up to the FBI and save himself from prosecution for the Allsafe breach.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Although he works at a cybersecurity firm, his password is '123456Seven'. He also puts a dodgy CD bought off the street into his computer without making any attempts to check if it was safe first.
