Biocyte Industries

     Doctor Nekhorvich

Dr. Nekhorvich

Portrayed By: Rade Šerbedžija

Appearances: Mission: Impossible II

  • Exact Time to Failure: He explains to the IMF that he has to get from Sydney to Atlanta within 20 hours. It's later revealed he deliberately infected himself with Chimera as the only way to smuggle the virus out of Australia, and had to be innoculated with the antivirus within 20 hours of infection before the virus's dormant period in the body ends.
  • Heel–Face Turn: After one of his colleagues, Dr. Sergei Gradksy was deliberately infected with Chimera to test the virus, Nekhorvich contacted the IMF about what his superiors were up to with Chimera.
  • Four Eyes, Zero Soul: Subverted; Nekhorvich is clearly appalled by his work for Biocyte.
  • Just Think of the Potential!: It's implied he created Chimera as part of a plan to create a cure for influenza.
  • Meaningful Name: As a virologist who specialised in combining DNA molecules, Ethan notes it's appropriate Nekhorvich would name his creation after a Mix-and-Match Critter from Greek mythology.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He's implied to have been appalled by his superior's plans for Chimera and intended to turn the virus over to the Centre for Disease Control in Atlanta.
  • Neck Snap: How Ambrose kills him.
  • Oh, Crap!: When he realises he's not talking to Ethan (who he knows as Dimitri).
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He only appears in person in the opening scene where he's promptly killed off by Ambrose-disguised-as-Ethan/Dimitri, and the real Ethan later wears his face to coerce a confession out of John McCloy, but it's his creations: the Chimera virus and the Bellerophon vaccine, that drive the entire plot of M:I-2.

Russia

     Egorov

Egorov

Portrayed By: Andrej Bestcastnyj

Appearances: Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol

A Kremlin checkpoint security guard.

  • Funny Foreigner: He may be Russian, but he's still quite funny.
  • Nice Guy: He's quite affable and friendly, and him asking Ethan what the hell is going on is just part of his job.
  • Uncertain Doom: It's unknown what happened to him. He's last seen inside the Kremlin before it exploded. But he could have gotten out.

India

     Brij Nath

Brij Nath

Portrayed by: Anil Kapoor

Appearances: Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol

A wealthy Indian media tycoon and the IMF's target to extract information during their mission in Mumbai.

  • The Casanova: Certainly acts like one.
  • Dirty Old Man: He keeps collections of Indian sexual artworks inside his inner rooms and charms younger women into sleeping with him with playful antics. Too bad he comes across Agent Carter.
  • Fiction 500: He owns one of the biggest and most advanced telecommunications company in the world and certainly has the wealth to show for it, with an opulent party inside his luxurious palace. The guy has butlers hand out free smartphones to his guests in order to contact them, for God's sake!
  • Large Ham: Brij is basically the same character played by Kapoor in Slumdog Millionaire but as a lecherous mass media tycoon. Those playful twinkletoes can chew the floor of his chamber any time.

Great Britain

    Prime Minister

The UK Prime Minister

Portrayed by: Tom Hollander

Appearances: Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation

Austria

    Chancellor of Austria

The Chancellor of Austria

Portrayed by: Rupert Wickham

  • Cruel Twist Ending: Character-wise, it's sad that Ethan did all the work just for his car to blow up.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Suddenly killed when you thought he's safe.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: In his only appearance he goes to the Vienna State Opera to watch Turandot. Turandot!!
  • Nice Guy: In his only fifteen minutes of screen time he showed himself to be very polite and affable.

The French Policewoman

Portrayed by: Alix Bénézech

Appearances Mission: Impossible – Fallout

A young French policewoman whom Ethan and co. has an unexpected run-in with in Paris and complicates their mission.

  • Fair Cop: She's quite attractive and dedicated to her job, given that she doesn't hesitate to try and take on who she thought are four kidnappers all by herself.
  • No Name Given: She's never named onscreen.
  • Not What It Looks Like: Played for Drama. She sees Ethan and co. about to make their getaway in a car with the tied-up and masked Solomon Lane in tow. Having no idea about what's really going on, she understandably sees this as a kidnapping attempt and draws a gun on them, almost forcing Walker to gun her down.
  • Spanner in the Works: A rare example that works against the heroes. Ethan goes out of his way to derail his initial plan to extract Solomon Lane in Paris so he could avoid any police casualty, only to unexpectedly run into her just when he thought his team is in the clear, and it seems like he has no choice but to silence her to proceed with his mission. Fortunately, he's able to Take a Third Option when one of White Widow's hit squads arrives, wounds and attempts to execute her, allowing Ethan to gun all of them down before helping her call her colleagues for help with her car's radio, saving her life and gaining her trust in the process.
