The following is a character sheet for Lost Cartridge - Cold Read and the tropes associated with the characters.

Mitchell Hayes
- Braving the Blizzard: Starts out the game walking to his local pharmacy to pick up his medication during a snow storm. While he makes it there, the way back home is what pushes him into detouring to the library.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: As the playable character, most of the death scenes involve Mitch experiencing a variety of these.
- Dead All Along: The first two endings reveal that Mitch never made it to the library and is actually dying in the snow.
- Eaten Alive: Both the plant and the bug crawling around the fortune telling machine can do this to Mitch.
- Mystical White Hair: His true hair color is actually blonde, but his hair appears as white while exploring the library as a sign that he's not entirely alive.
- Sympathy for the Devil: Despite his methods of letting Jackie know what she put him through, Mitch still expresses some sadness over her fate after death.
Static Man (Clayton Malthus)
The first monster that Mitch encounters in the library.
- Abusive Dad: A microfilm with Clayton's obituary on it reveals him to be shunned by his children due to his past actions.
- Body Horror: His face is nothing but a static screen with his body covered in boils and tendrils.
- Dead All Along: Like the other residents of the library, Clayton had died prior to being a monster.
- Final Boss: Of Ending 1.
Caroline Pargana
- Body Horror: While the majority of her appearance is on the normal side, her face appears as a bloody shell with three eyes. Her lack of mouth prevents her from speaking without sign language.
- Cute Ghost Girl: Out of all the residents, Caroline is the least frightening to look at, as well as being the only non-hostile one.
- Dead All Along: She had died long before Mitch arrived.
- Nice Girl: She genuinely wants to help Mitch escape the library with his life in tact.
Abigail Martino
- Ax-Crazy: Begins trying to murder Mitch as soon as she notices him near her. She will continue to surprise him and chase him even after escaping her the first time.
- Body Horror: What's left of her original appearance is barely recognizable with most of her body being covered in fleshy growths and a large eye and mouth growing out of her back.
- Dead All Along: She is presumed to have died before becoming a resident like the others in the library.
- Must Have Caffeine: Her desk area is littered with empty coffee cups.
Benjamin Lane
- Dead All Along: A note confirms that he committed suicide before the events of the game.
- Driven to Suicide: Reading his suicide note reveals that he wanted to die before losing too much of himself to a tumor growing in his brain.
- Workaholic: Despite his death, he continues to uphold the library's rules and complete paperwork.
- The Unintelligible: Before finding all of the cards, he is impossible to understand. This is revealed to be due to only residents understanding each others' speech.
Jackie
Mitch's old friend responsible for trapping him inside the library.
- Asshole Victim: Before being killed in a car accident, Jackie outed Mitch as being gay as well as spread additional rumors about him. After Mitch confronts her, she blames him for not dating her.
- Big Bad: She set the library up as a puzzle game to try convince Mitch to be friends with her again. Him dying would just mean they would be together forever.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: While alive, Jackie was Mitch's best friend and was even trusted to be the first person he came out to. She however used this information to out Mitch by force and create rumors about to the point he attempted to hang himself in the boys' locker room.
- Body Horror: Jackie appears as a rotting corpse attached to pieces of scrap metal. Her chest is cut open resembling a disecction.
- Dead All Along: The final chat room conversation memory with her reveals that she was killed in a hit and run when she was seventeen.
- Final Boss: of Ending 2
- From Nobody to Nightmare: Started as an ordinary teenage girl before being killed and turned into a monster forever thinking about her old friend.
- I Just Want to Be Loved: She just wants to restore her friendship with Mitch, but doesn't seem to understand the pain she caused him until it's literally beaten into her.
- Walking Spoiler: She is the main cause of the events of the game.
