Note: No team in this season chose to redeem the Cup.

Team 1

Dungeoneer: Matt
Advisors: Razar, Ben, John
From: Bath
Object of quest: Crown
Level attained: Level 2
Cause of death: Misguidance

  • Deadpan Snarker: When one of his advisors asked if he could see where he was going, Matt replied by reminding his advisors he had "an urn" on his head.
  • Not the Fall That Kills You…: Were too close to the edge of the causeway, sending Matt falling when it gave way.
Treguard: Well boys, wherever Matt's gone, I think it's only fair that you should join him.
  • Summon Magic: Used a SAMURAI spell to summon a ghostly samurai warrior to scare Sylvester Hands into helping them.
  • Tall Poppy Syndrome: Matt certainly was taller and more confident than dungeoneers before him. His height stood out especially when he went into the dwarf tunnels and the horns of his helmet almost reached the ceiling!
  • Too Clever by Half: Matt seemed a little too comfortable interacting with people on the quest. He cheekily waved goodbye to Julius Scaramonger, wiped his hands on Sylvester Hands cloak (leading to Sylvester to wipe HIS hands on Matt's shirt!), and when he helped save Motley and Sidress from a pooka and Motley called him a hero, he cockily replied, "I know I am."

Team 2

Dungeoneer: Sumayya
Advisors: Ruminda, Karminy, Zalmina
From: London
Object of quest: Shield
Level attained: Level 2
Cause of death: Incorrect clue object choice

  • Failed a Spot Check: Despite given a clue telling them to be 'an amber gambler', the team chose to take a firestone instead of an amber necklace, thinking the stone was good for trading (meaning they overlooked what the scroll advised). Without the amber, they were unable to get the password from Heggatty, and were caught by the Dreadnort in the next room.
Treguard: Well, it's easy to see where you went wrong, Team. You were warned to be an amber gambler. But you chose the red stone and not the yellow.
  • Who's on First?: While dealing with Ah Wok, he kept confusing Sumayya's name, thinking she was saying 'somewhere', leading him to say, "Of course you're somewhere, you're right here!" Later on, when they try to summon Hordriss through his calling name, they confused the "l" for an "r" due to Ah Wok's accent when he said it.

Team 3

Dungeoneer: Alan
Advisors: Jim, Nic, Mark
From: St. Albans
Object of quest: Sword
Level attained: Level 3
Cause of death: Taking too long

  • Giant Hands of Doom: When Lord Fear manifested his arm to block the team's way, Alan put on a gauntlet that summoned a large, gloved hand to restrain Fear.
  • Not the Fall That Kills You…: Took too long getting set up to step on the causeway until the first block they were standing on collapsed.
Treguard: I warned you, you've got to be quick in Level 3. And now, I shall be quick!
  • Oh Crap Fake Out: Alan had received a box from Hordriss that the team knew contained a Medusa's Eye from Lord Fear. When the team later encountered Heggatty, they gave her the box which she quickly opened. Alan shielded his eyes but apparently witches are immune to the Medusa's Taken for Granite powers.
  • Verbal Tic: Every so often when entering a new chamber the advisors would tell Alan he "wasn't going to fall off anything". Guess what eventually happens to them.

Team 4

Dungeoneer: January
Advisors: Sarah H., Sarah C., Sian
From: Shrewsbury
Object of quest: Crown
Level attained: Level 2
Cause of death: Incorrect course of action regarding correct clue object

  • Ambiguous Situation: If the team had survived their encounter with Hands by using the ring, it's likely they wouldn't have been able to survive Level 2 due to their strange decision to buy a (likely useless) sword-rusting spell instead of witch-amber from Julius Scaramonger.
  • Ascended Extra: January was originally meant to be one of the advisors, but intended dungeoneer Sarah H. broke her right leg before filming, so January took her place.
  • Malaproper: January constantly read the word "defrost" as "deforest".
  • Mathematician's Answer: After freeing Sidriss from a freeze spell, she asked January where she came from. January replied, "I just walked in."
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted with two Sarahs.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: January had found Lord Fear's lost ring of power. When confronted by Sylvester Hands, she offered the ring to him to let her go, a strategy used by other dungeoneers to escape capture. Unfortunately, they were supposed to use the ring, so Hands took her instead, making January the only dungeoneer to have their quest ended by Sylvester Hands.
Treguard: The ring wasn't for selling, girls, it was for using. And if only you'd used it, you would still be with us.

Team 5

Dungeoneer: Ben
Advisors: James, Alan, Nathan
From: Salisbury
Object of quest: Crown

  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: The first and only team of Series 6 to succeed in their quest.
  • Badass Boast: Ben delivers a short one after summoning Hordriss to Level 3, where his powers are weaker. "Hordriss, you're at my mercy. What will you give me to let you go back?"
  • Born Lucky: Despite getting a clue to the first two steps of the Great Causeway, they still had to go the rest of the way by guesswork. This is even lampshaded by one of the advisors.
  • Just in Time: Had to run through the dwarf tunnels to get back to Knightmare Castle with the crown, and made it just as their life force was down to just a skeleton.
  • Making a Splash: Pulled this one Lord Fear when he threatened to destroy them if they tried to pick up the crown. The team promptly cast a SPLASH spell, sending and trapping him in his own communications pool!
  • Outrun the Fireball: They were much quicker than the frightknight's sword on the Great Causeway, especially in the second half.
  • Rage Quit: A mild example. After trying to get more information from Ah Wok led to nothing but Ben mispronouncing Sidress' name, Ben finally decided to just take the potion Ah Wok was offering and get on with the quest.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Acquired a Pooka in a jar named Puck, and used it frighten Skarkill into giving up the key to Level 3.
  • The Stoic: Even after succeeding in his quest, Ben always looked very serious and depressed.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: James' reaction before he casts the TRICK spell, not knowing if it was a trap from Lord Fear.

Team 6

Dungeoneer: Sophia
Advisors: Claire, Kim, Emma
From: Bournemouth
Object of quest: Crown
Level attained: Level 3
Cause of death: Failure to secure vital information

  • Comically Missing the Point: The team kept asking Ridolfo for information having ignored the fact that he was spellbound by Hordriss.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: After not getting a diploma from Hordriss that supposedly would guide them on the Great Causeway, the team was forced to guess. Unfortunately, they were not as quick or as lucky as the previous team, leading to Sophia falling just as her life force ran out.
Treguard: If only you'd won your diploma, Team, then you would have known the sequence to the causeway.
  • Literal-Minded: When Pickle first saw the results of Sophia's size changing ring, he cried out, "Elf boots!" in surprise. When describing to Sophia what was happening, Emma told her it was something to do with elf boots. Cue Double Take from Pickle.
  • No Sense of Direction: Claire got increasingly confused during the Level 1 causeway puzzle. Thankfully she got over it before they went into the Corridor of Blades.
  • Shocking Elimination: In Universe. Pickle was nearly moved to tears at the young team falling just short of the finish, and was still in a daze when the next episode began. Since the 'death' coincidentally happened right at the time for the episode to end, the production team decided to twist the knife by having Lord Fear's deliver a gloating voice-over stinger at the end of the credits: "Now, that's what I call 'lovely', Skarkill." (A repeat of one of his lines from a few episodes earlier.)
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Elita. Hoo boy Elita. Sophia's first meeting was uneventful, with Elita doing her usual insults. But when Elita called Sophia a 'face-ache' the second time they met, Sophia said that she was a face-ache too! When they met again in Level 3, Elita really let loose, and when Sophia got snarky, Elita almost refused to save her from Skarkill. She finally did though, after making Sophia say how very sorry she was.
  • Sizeshifter: Used a magic ring to make Sophia giant to force Julius Scaramonger to give them a dragon caller.

Team 7

Dungeoneer: Chris
Advisors: Nicholas, Gavin, Simon
From: Ruislip
Object of quest: Lightning rod (originally the Sword)
Level attained: Level 3

  • Boisterous Bruiser: In the first clue room, Chris seemed very pleased with his choice to take a gold bar and mallet, saying, "I can bribe and hit someone!" And, ironically enough, he got to do both to Julius Scaramonger, several times.
  • Gecko Ending: While they were able to stop Lord Fear's dragon, the team was forced to put aside their quest for the sword to do so.
  • Gone Horribly Right: The plan to defeat the red dragon succeeded, but the team were accidentally dismissed in the process. At least, as Treguard put it, what the team did would give them a hero's welcome back home.
    Pickle: The team's gone.
Treguard: Ah, that was an accident, actually. Still, they played their part. They'll look good in Ruislip.
  • Hyperspace Mallet: Chris' mallet summoned a larger hammer that was used to help 'convince' Scaramonger to give him a key. When they first tested it after they found it, they were advised against using it on benches.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: A non-lethal example, but Chris did seem to get impatient on his quest, barking out to his advisors and jogging through tunnels (although granted he was trying to stop a dragon). During an encounter with a blocker, he took his advisors off guard by using a word they had thought was a spell without talking to them first. Luckily for him it was the password.
  • Malaproper: They kept refering a bench they found the mallet on as a table.
Pickle: Even I know the difference between a table and a bench, Master, and that looks like it's going to hit somebody.
