Duke Fleed
Voiced by: Miyu Irino
The protagonist of the series and the pilot of Grendizer. He was once the prince of Planet Fleed, but now lives on Earth, going by the name "Daisuke Umon."
- Amnesiac Hero: The story section of the official website states that he was found in the desert with no memories.
- Phlebotinum-Handling Requirements: Grendizer's section on the official website states that it can only be piloted by a Starker, a person containing the GN Gene.
Koji Kabuto
Voiced by: Hiro Shimono
The pilot of Mazinger Z and the young head of the Kabuto Zaibatsu. He befriended Duke after rescuing him in the desert.
- Blue Is Heroic: He pilots Mazinger Z as an ally of justice, and he wears a blue jacket off the battlefield and a blue pilot suit on it.
Sayaka Yumi
Voiced by: Sumire Uesaka
Koji's girlfriend and an agent of the Kabuto Zaibatsu.
- Adaptation Dye-Job: While most works portray Sayaka's hair as brown, it's purple here.
- Casting Gag: Sayaka voice actress previously portaryed Lisa in Mazinger Z: Infinity. Given Lisa's status as Koji and Sayaka's potential daughter, this means that Uesaka is voicing an alternate version of her previous character's mother here.
Gennosuke Yumi
Voiced by: Show Hayami
Sayaka's father and the head of the Photon Power Laboratory.
- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: He and Genzo had no real relationship in the 70's works, with their only interaction being in a single crossover movie. Here, they work at the Photon Power Lab together.
Genzo Umon
Voiced by: Takuya Kirimoto
A member of the Photon Power Laboratory and Duke's adoptive father.
- Adaptational Job Change: In the 70's anime, he was the head of the Space Science Laboratory. Said lab isn't mentioned on this show's official website, with Genzo's profile stating that he works at the Photon Power Lab.
- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: He had no interactions with Gennosuke in the 70's works outside of a single crossover movie. Here, he's mentioned as being Gennosuke's kohai.
- Number Two: His profile states that he's Gennosuke's right-hand man at the Photon Power Lab.
