    Gamera

Gamera I

  • Beware the Nice Ones:
  • Composite Character: Overall, Gamera appears to share traits with most of his incarnations so far.
    • Like the Showa Gamera and the Heisei Gamera, he's the friend of all children and fights the same lineup of monsters and he's a ruthless yet benevolent kaiju who can ignite his own limbs on fire to power up.
      • Aside from that, Gamera shares and combines physical traits with both his 1999 and Reiwa designs, specifically with the carapace shape, posture, head shape, and plastron design.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After successfully destroying both of the Hyper Gyaos that he had pursued, Gamera stares at the massive damage and casualties he had caused in great horror, shame, guilt and sadness.
    Toto/Gamera II
  • Composite Character: Both to the original and the Gamera incarnation from the 2015 short film.
    Barugon

Chilling Monster
  • Adaptational Badass: Barugon lost his weakness to freshwater. Additionally, he is now a complete bruiser than he was in the films.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: A diamond was used to lure Barugon into a lake but he just snapped it up with his tongue instead.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Barugon's tail spikes are prominently longer, and are capable of injuring other kaiju, including Gyaos.
  • Defeat Equals Friendship: Got beaten by Gamera, but instead of swearing revenge on him, Barugon developed respect and loyalty towards him and would jump in to assist him and his allies.
  • Everything's Better with Rainbows: Barugon can launch a rainbow-like light ray from his dorsal scutes.
  • Four Legs Good, Two Legs Better: Barugon normally walks on all four of legs, but he can also stand on his hind feet with ease.
  • An Ice Person: As per usual, Barugon can utilize his Chilling Liquid. When at his full power, he gains the power to boost his Chilling Liquid to the more powerful Absolute Zero Beam.
  • It Can Think: Barugon was smart enough to sneak the Devil's Whistle from the museum without Jiger noticing. Other than that, he is also capable of developing battle strategies.
  • Like Brother and Sister: With Jiger.
  • Made of Iron: Barugon easily manages to survive underwater for a good 4 years all the while being in a comatose state.
    Monga
  • Adaptational Badass: His original counterpart was originally going to be an alien lifeform native to the planet Terra before being replaced by Space Gyaos, but in DOE, he's a divine mythical creature known as the Guardian of the East. He is also far more agile and graceful in flight.
  • Adaptational Species Change: Instead of being a lifeform from outer space, Monga is instead a guardian kaiju created by the Atlanteans, just like Gamera.
  • The Bus Came Back: He returns in this universe's version of Gamera Super Monster as one of the various monsters attacking the world while put under the control of the Bio-Mecha.
  • Dragons Are Divine: Much like his fellow guardians (including Iris since he was raised to be this way by Megumi), Monga is a benevolent entity that protects not only Japan, but the entire world from threats.
  • Mythology Gag: He was meant to fight Guiron in the original script for Gamera Vs. Guiron. His original role is restored there.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: A dragon resembling a flying squirrel that was created by the Atlanteans to serve a purpose as a guardian kaiju.
    Jiger

Jiger I

  • 100% Heroism Rating: After mellowing out and proving her worthy, the people of Wester Island now adore and respect her to the point where merchandise of her is common, and she is considered a living landmark of the island.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Averted. Like in the Showa series, Jiger was a monster that was sealed away on Wester Island. Mythology Gag, the island itself is located in Indonesia, the place where Jiger originated from in GAMERA -Rebirth-.
  • Adapted Out: Jiger no longer has her saliva missile attack, but she can instead deliver painful injuries and stings using the neurotoxin-tipped spines that support her dorsal fin. Additionally, she can no longer inject smaller Jiger via her tail, but she is capable of asexual reproduction like the Gyaos.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Not necessarily a stinger, but Jiger has an elongated spur at the tip of her tail that she can use to inject neurotoxins into her opponents.
  • Buried Alive: It's how Gamera and Barugon manage to reseal her in the first place.
  • Composite Character: Jiger combines traits of both her Showa and Reiwa incarnations.
    • Like the Showa incarnation, she emerged on Wester Island after the Devil's Whistle is removed.
    • Like the Reiwa incarnation, she has a more prominent head frill and her dorsal fin curves forward. Not only that, but she also fulfills the same role she had in the anime.
  • Head Blast: Like in the Showa series, Jiger can fire a heat ray from the small gem embedded on her forehead. However, this heat ray is composed entirely of highly concentrated plasma, similar to Gamera's fireballs.
  • Heel Realization: Once Jiger understands that the Eustace Foundation's nabbing of her egg was an accident, she forgives them for their mistake and leaves with her child.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: It's how she manages to kill Viras.
  • Killed Off for Real: Jiger dies during the battle against the Hyper Gyaos when one of them fires a supersonic scalpel through her.
  • Like Brother and Sister: With Barugon.
  • Mama Bear: Apparently, the reason for her rampage in GAMERA -Rebirth- was that the Eustace Foundation took her egg by mistake, and it angered her.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Barugon did help her mellow out a good bit. She took another, where she allowed the Garasharps to live with her and Barugon.
  • Truly Single Parent: She apparently doesn't have any mate, yet she's able to have children.

Jiger II

  • Adaptational Heroism:
  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Unlike in the films, rather than when Jiger gave birth to her by injecting her egg into Gamera's body through her tail stinger, she was born later when Jiger layed her egg sometime prior to the events of the "Summer of Kaiju" story arc.
  • Badass Adorable: Despite her cute looks, she is still capable of using her stinger tail and her poison spines.
  • Berserk Button: NEVER under any circumstances threaten her adoptive mother, Emiko Melchiorri. The Aquatic Gyaos made that mistake. One hour later, there was enough of the Aquatic Gyaos' skull to be put in a museum.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Compared to her mother, she looks a lot nicer and regal with mammoth-like tusks, normal eyes, and a majestic-looking dorsal fin.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: She inherited this from her mother.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: While Jiger II is a gentle giant, let's not forget she is just as tough and savage as her mother.
  • Head Blast: Like her mother, Jiger II can fire a plasma heat ray from her forehead.
  • Legacy Character: After her mother's death, she continues her mother's legacy after reaching adulthood.
  • Like Mother, Unlike Daughter / Like Mother, Like Daughter: Zig-Zagged. Plays into the former a good majority of the time. Jiger I was a Chaotic Neutral Fallen Hero who turned on her creators in the past during an attempt to use her in stopping the Gyaos and had moral agency issues. Jiger II is a Neutral Good with multiple friends, love humans as a whole, and only attacks if attacked or attacking on behalf of another. Like her mother however, she does have a weakness for white noise, albeit not as much, only being irritated by it. The fact she felt the temptation to be more like her mother terrifies her. Ironically it's her non-kaiju "parent", Emiko Melchiorri she takes more after; having gotten her selflessness, heroism, and morality from her.
  • Nice Girl: Due to being raised by humans, Jiger II is way much more friendlier with humans than her mother is, and is kind to all forms of life.... all except for the Gyaos.
  • Poisonous Person: She also inherited this trait from her mother.
  • Raised by Humans: While she did spend years under the care of her biological mother, Jiger, she was partially raised by human caretakers at the Eustace Foundation.
  • She's All Grown Up:
    Iris/Zhuque/Ryuseicho
  • Adaptational Species Change: Zhuque is later revealed to have been created from the DNA of both Gamera and the Gyaos, thus making him a Gamera/Gyaos hybrid.
  • Fallen Hero: In the end, it's Ayana's hatred, anger, and desires for revenge that corrupted Iris, causing him to go down a path of villainy, although it's only because he thinks it's what Ayana wants her to do.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Ayana named the monster after her dead pet cat. In the alternate timeline, Megumi named the creature after Ayana's cat, and ironically, he grew up into the guardian monster he is to this day.
  • Heel–Face Turn: After spending plenty of time with Megumi, Iris gradually develops into a more heroic, benevolent, and graceful being.
  • Raised by Humans:
