This page lists the contestants competing in Drag Race Philippines season one. Some of these queens may also appear in other Drag Race shows, or may return in later seasons, but only tropes specific to Philippines season one are listed on this page. As well as tropes from the main show itself, tropes for its companion show Untucked are also listed here. Season 1 began on August 17, 2022. All names, ages, and locations stated are at the time of filming.

Prince (12th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_981.jpg

Age: 25
From: Calumpit, Bulacan

[deep voice] "Dude. Pare. Tsong." [lighter voice] "Of course."Translation

  • Butt-Monkey: During the runway of the first episode, she wears the same shoes as during her talent show performance, which she admits in her confessional. While this is not directly picked up on by the judges, they do call her out for the fact that the shoes don't fit her look, and it's made into a Running Gag during the episode and even after her elimination.
  • Geek: She loves video games and sci-fi. In Episode 1, she explicitly states that her drag is influenced by these her geeky interests.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: She is the first queen to be eliminated from Drag Race Philippines, ever, thus becoming this iteration's "Porkchop".

Corazon (11th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_4943.jpg

Age: 34
From: Bolinao, Pangasinan

[tongue trill] "Happy fiesta!" [chuckle] "Oh, my God! My name is Corazon at naniniwala ako sa mga katagang: 'Mga sis! Diyan muna kayo sa likod. Tatawagin nalang pag may tira.'"Translation and notes

  • Didn't Think This Through: After winning the mini challenge in the second episode, Corazon is granted a 15 second head start for the maxi challenge in order to pick out the best materials. She zooms past most of the flowers and goes for an array of colored pencils, chicken wire, and thread instead, resulting in a poorly constructed garment. Main judge Paolo even asks her point-blank where the flowers on her flower dress are.
  • Rummage Sale Reject: Her Sagalamazon dress was a poorly designed mishmash of random materials. Plus, despite the challenge being based on the Flores de Mayo festival, she barely grabbed any flowers. As a result, she ended up in the bottom where she was eliminated.
  • Shout-Out: Her drag name is a reference to the Filipino horror movie Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang.

Turing (9th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/turing.jpg

Age: 29
From: Cainta, Rizal

[puts hands on hips] "Let's do this."

  • Big Fun: She is a plus-sized queen and a fun, charismatic performer. In their "Pop Off Ate" performance, she sings about being this trope.
  • Only One Name: Her full drag name is Turing Quinto, but on the show she is simply Turing.

Lady Morgana (8th + Miss Congeniality)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ladymorgana.jpg

Age: 30
From: Davao City, Davao

"Madayaw, mga kaigsuonan! Or I should say, hello, mga kaibigan, with feelings!"Translation and notes

  • Bilingual Bonus: More like trilingual. Aside from English and Tagalog, she speaks in her native language Bisaya a lot. Her verse in "Pop Off, Ate" is almost fully in Bisaya.
  • Country Mouse: She frequently acknowledges that she's a small-town girl, compared to the big-city Manila girls. She notes that the drag scene in her home region Mindanao is even campier than it is in Manila. So despite the Proper Lady theme of her outfits, Morgana's personality is that of an energetic camp queen.
  • Penny Among Diamonds: The fact that her budget is much smaller than the other contestants' is consistently obvious in her outfits. This is explicitly addressed in Untucked, where Morgana frets over how lackluster her runways are because she doesn't have the money to go all out. Her lack of a budget is also ultimately what gets her eliminated, even though she is a highly charismatic, talented, lovable queen.
Lady Morgana: Poverty is the best diet!
  • Proper Lady: Her drag looks' main theme. She often wears prim and proper hairstyles and her drag outfits are also ladylike, though usually mixed with Camp.
  • Younger than She Looks: She's one of the season's younger contestants, but her dramatic, old-fashioned drag style makes her look a lot older. For example, her entrance look is a little black dress paired with victory rolls (a hairstyle popular in the 1940s) and fancy diamonds. Corazon teases her for it, joking that she's been a fan of Morgana's since childhood. (In reality, Lady Morgana is four years younger than Corazon.)

Viñas DeLuxe (7th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vinasdeluxe.jpg

Age: 25
From: San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan

[singing] "Say yeeeeeahhhhh!" [turns head towards the queens] "Andito na pala kayo! Oh my God!"Translation

  • Fun Personified: Her drag is all about having fun, and she says as much in Episode 1.
  • Melismatic Vocals: Viñas DeLuxe sure can sing and won't let anyone forget about it. She shows off her singing talent from her very first appearance, where she enters the Werk Room belting out melismatic notes. She demonstrates her prowess in other episodes as well. For example, in Episode 3, most contestants decide to go with Boastful Raps for the girl group challenge "Pop Off Ate." However, Viñas belts out powerhouse runs not just for her verse but also in melismatic ad-libs.
Eva Le Queen: [when Viñas enters the Werk Room while singing] I heard that voice, that grating, annoying, obnoxious voice and I know it's Viñas.

Brigiding (6th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brigiding.jpg

Age: 29
From: Mandaluyong, Metro Manila

"Finally, I'm here. Bring it on, girls!"

  • Fun Personified: She's a bundle of energy.
  • Hidden Depths: Although she enters the Werk Room in an intentionally clumsy, goofy way, she is quickly established as one of the season's most experienced, skilled queens.
  • Jack of All Trades: From the start, Minty Fresh names her as the biggest threat, saying that Brigiding can do "almost everything" and is like drag's jack-of-all-trades.

Minty Fresh (5th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_04806.jpg

Age: 31
From: Quezon City, Metro Manila

"Pilipinas, fresh ka pa ba?"Translation and notes

  • Be Yourself: In a confessional for Untucked, she says that she wants to still be her chill self while showing the judges she's not just half-assing things.
  • Pink Is Feminine: She plainly states that her drag is hyper-feminine and pretty. She enters the Werk Room with long, flowing pink hair.
  • The Rival: To Marina Summers. They're both gorgeous glamour girls, and apparently fought over a guy before, a rivalry that's crossed over to the show. In Episode 1, Minty herself says that when she saw Marina, she knew this was the Alyssa Edwards vs. Coco Montrese moment everyone was waiting for.
  • The Slacker: She establishes herself as this early on, saying that the second drag starts feeling like work for her and not a mere hobby, she's going to quit. However, this is deconstructed when the judges tell her to "wake the fuck up" and imply that she's not putting in the work, a critique that actually gets to her. She then explains that she's not lazy or half-assing things, but being more low-energy and chill is her personality and she wants to be true to herself.

Xilhouete (3rd=)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/xilhouete.jpg

Age: 34
From: Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija

"I see stalkers." [turns to the other queens] "Oh, there they are. Hi, kids."

  • My Nayme Is: Her drag name is Xilhouete, as in silhouette minus one T and with X instead of S. Fans joke that they refer to her as "Xil" or "Xilo" simply because gays can't spell Xilhouete.

Eva Le Queen (3rd=)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/evalequeen.jpg

Age: 29
From: Marikina, Metro Manila

"Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the baddest bitch of them all?"

  • His Own Worst Enemy: In a deeply emotional Untucked conversation, Eva tells Minty that no one has bullied her except herself.
Eva Le Queen: I am my own biggest bully.
  • Punny Name: "Eva Le Queen" sounds like "Evil Queen," which is precisely what she dresses up as for her entrance look.
  • Shout-Out: Her drag name and entrance look are references to the Evil Queen in Snow White.

Marina Summers (Runner-up)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marinasummers.jpg

Age: 25
From: Makati City, Metro Manila

"Just like summer, this is my season!"

  • The Baby of the Bunch: She's the season's youngest queen, along with Prince and Viñas DeLuxe (also 25 at the time of filming). The next youngest queens are four years older (29-year-olds Brigiding, Eva Le Queen, and Turing). She invokes this trope in her "Pop Off, Ate" verse, where she sings that she may be young, but she's here to conquer and age is just a number.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She describes herself as a "tropical Filipino bombshell dream," and you'll know it. Her official contestant bio even touts her hot body.
  • The Rival: To Minty Fresh. They're both gorgeous glamour girls, and apparently fought over a guy before, a rivalry that's crossed over to the show. In Episode 1, Minty herself says that when she saw Marina, she knew this was the Alyssa Edwards vs. Coco Montrese moment everyone was waiting for.

Precious Paula Nicole (Winner)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/precious_7.jpg

Age: 35
From: Daet, Camarines Norte

[tosses teddy bear in the air, screams, catches it] "Echos!"Translation

  • The Cutie: Her drag style is very bubbly and sweet, like her personality.
  • Experienced Protagonist: She's babyfaced and sweet, but she's actually the season's second oldest contestant, as well as the most established and well-known.
Eva Le Queen: Any gay person in Manila knows Precious Paula Nicole. She's one of the most prominent, most sought-after, and most top-caliber queens talaga.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Her drag name is a reference to a character the main host Paolo Ballesteros played in Eat Bulaga!.
    • Although her drag name is an Eat Bulaga! reference, she doesn't miss the opportunity to make a The Lord of the Rings reference in her "Pop Off Ate" verse, mimicking Gollum's iconic "My precious" line.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Although she's very pretty in drag, her voice is gravelly and gruff, though that works well for her Gollum impression in "Pop Off Ate."
