The Resistance Movement
Polle
Captain Polle
"In simple terms: Nope."
— Polle, in nearly every single film
- Deadpan Snarker: Both he and Lars have their fair share of this.
- The Determinator: Never gives up his struggle against the municipality of Copenhagen. The original trailer for the third movie states he swam through a raging storm across the Øresund after the demise of his ship at the hands of Frank Jensen's fleet.
Lars
Lasse
"Just say the word, Poul!"
— Lars, Captain Polle 3: At World's End
- Deadpan Snarker: While Polle's quips are generally aimed towards the villains, Lars often takes jabs at his friend, as seen in the fourth movie:
Polle: I think he might be a problem. (referring to Frank Jensen)
Lars: Yeah, you think?
Emmanuel
Emmanuel Kwesi Amonoo
"Ho, ho, that's fantastic."
— Emmanuel, often immediately before detonating some kind of explosive
Municipality of Copenhagen
Frank Jensen
Mayor Frank Jensen
"ARE THERE ANY TROUBLEMAKERS HERE?"
The tyrannical mayor of Copenhagen, as well as the main antagonist of the series, who nearly kills Polle before disappearing at the end of the third movie. He later returns in the fourth movie, this time with the megalomanical ambition to take over Denmark, which he nearly succeeds in doing.— Frank, facing the resistance fleet
- Big Bad: The antagonist of every movie except for the first one, which didn't have much of a story anyway.
- Mayor Pain: Is implied to rule the city of Copenhagen with an iron fist, enforcing brutal methods against the resistance movement such as firing at their unarmed civilian ships. In the fourth movie, he tries to become Denmark's dictator in what is essentially a military coup, only being stopped thanks to the efforts of Lars and Polle.
Sophie Hæstorp
Sophie Hæstorp Andersen
Frank Jensen's successor as Mayor of Copenhagen. Her wish to continue with the Lynetteholm project is an open secret by the start of the fourth movie, but her being an outright puppet of the not-so-dead Frank Jensen isn't revealed until later on. Mette Frederiksen
Mette Frederiksen
"Wait, how come she's still the prime minister? I thought we deposed her in the last movie!"
The Prime Minister of Denmark. While she sponsors Frank Jensen in At World's End and seemingly falls alongside him, she heads a coalition government alongside Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Jakob Ellemann-Jensen in Frankie's Revenge, mirroring Denmark's real-life political situation. She is later imprisoned along with the rest of the government on Frank's orders, but is eventually released and presumably restored as Prime Minister.— Lars, Captain Polle 4: Frankie's Revenge
Others
Eggman
Chinese Eggman
"Xue hua piao piao..."
A wise monk residing in a temple in Sweden. While not seen until the last movie, his temple acts as a shelter for Polle on numerous occasions, and he himself acts as a sort of mentor to the protagonist. He has a prominent role at the end of Frankie's Revenge, when his fleet arrives out of nowhere and turns the tide in the Third Battle of Øresund.— Eggman, Captain Polle 4: Frankie's Revenge
- Mythology Gag: His whole appearance in the final movie is one, since he was originally intended to play a large role in the third movie, even appearing in a scrapped opening scene during the film's early drafts.
