Kaptajn Polle (English: Captain Polle) is a Danish series of short, comedic action films, centering around the exploits of the eponymous character, Captain Polle, his sidekick, Lars, and their frequent struggles against the tyrannical municipal government of Copenhagen. Heavily inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean, from which it outright steals music and footage for the more epic scenes, the series consists of four films, Kaptajn Polle, Kaptajn Polle II: Over Øresund (Over the Sound), Kaptajn Polle III: Ved Verdens Ende (At World's End) and Kaptajn Polle IV: Frankie's Revenge.
The Captain Polle series provides examples of:
- Duels Decide Everything: At the end of At World's End, Lars has a Battle-Halting Duel with Frank Jensen and emerges victorious, seemingly sending Frank to his doom beneath the waves. This is apparently enough to defeat the entire Copenhagen armada and depose the Prime Minister, saving the day.
