• The Blank: His "face" looks more like a TV screen.
• Took a Level in Jerkass: The plot of Void has him torment others of his kind. Don't be surprised when his victims team up to humble him.
• Voice of the Legion: The few words CommanderVideo speaks sound like this; this is most easily heard in RUNNER and FATE where he calls out the name of every new rank he gets.

• The Blank: Similar to CommanderVideo, her face is just a TV screen.
• Distaff Counterpart: To CommanderVideo.
• Pink Means Feminine: She looks similar to Commander Video but is pink.
• Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: She is pink, has breasts and a beauty mark, has a more curvy figure, and wears a bow on her head.

Radbot

• Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome: Breaks down in FATE, forcing his creator Mr. Robotube into the fray.

Meat Boy

• Guest Fighter: From his self-titled game.

Bad Guys

• Arch-Enemy: To Commander Video.
• Art Evolution: By Runner3, he was given Big Ol' Eyebrows and a mouth, making him look a lot cartoonier and more expressive.
• Big Bad: From RUNNER onwards.
• Generic Doomsday Villain: He doesn't seem to have any motives other than being a threat.
• Killer Robot: He is a large gear robot hell-bent on destroying everything in his way.
• Oh, Crap!: During the third part of his boss battle in Runner 3, he realizes he's screwed and has this reaction.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning: His 3D appearances give him this.

The Narrator

• Added Alliterative Appeal: Very fond of this, especially during the intro.
• As Himself: In both Runner2 and Runner3 he introduces himself as Charles Martinet. When you also unlock him, he says "You’ve unlocked… me!"
• Nightmare Face: For whatever reason, when playing as him in Runner3 there's a chance that his head will briefly turn into that of a grotesque tentacle creature. The game keeps track of how many times this happens, referring to the occurrences as "Spooky Encounters".
