    Ahri'ahn (Arion)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arion_5.jpg

The Lord High Mage and later King of Atlantis. Arion is the oldest son of Caluclha and Majistra. After a family feud left his body in an intangible state and his soul in Darkworld, he was freed and ascended to his political stations with Wyynde, Chian, and Mara by his side. However, despite his best efforts, Atlantis fell and he resumed his duties as a Lord of Order with waning powers. In the modern era, he regains his powers and fights evil (reluctantly) once more until his demise by Mordru.

  • The Ageless: Due to his heritage, he is immortal and cannot die from natural causes. He has lived for thousands of years (or millions per Rebirth).
  • The Archmage: Is considered this in Atlantis in both his series and the entire DCU in the context of Atlantis alongside Atlan, though he is more prevalent. After the New 52, he is solely considered this as Atlan is no longer a explicit mage.
  • Adaptational Wimp: In the Young Justice television series, he is an agent of order and immortal without the benefit of a healing factor, is the grandson of Vandal Savage, and is killed by Klarion the Witch Boy. In the comics, the character is a Lord of Order capable of magic evenly with Nabu, is so much older than Vandal Savage that he could be HIS ancestor, has a far more powerful form of immortality than Savage himself, and is hailed as a Sorcerer Supreme in the DC Universe. He is also the byproduct of gods.
  • The Dreaded: Both Pre-Flashpoint and New 52, Arion is definitely considered this to those who are evil. Most antagonists in his series take precautions when dealing with him specifically and most fail ultimately.
  • Evil Old Folks: Only in Rebirth's Blue Beetle.
  • Insufferable Genius: Despite Calculha's teachings and lesson that he learned, he hasn't shaken off his arrogance. The DC Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded notes that he is very aware that his studies and heritage makes him extremely powerful and he isn't afraid to flaunt that around. With that said, he is considered one of DCU's most powerful sorcerers. And for good reason.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Arion becomes this in his later life contrary to his upbringing; In the 1600s, he was willing to force Superman (after traveling to the future) to stop his heroics and let civilization fall in order to avert a dark possible future that ends up killing all of humanity. Superman didn't take kindly to this. In the modern era, he was also pretty mean to Power Girl, who was considered his great-granddaughter. Even though he revealed to have lied about that, he still didn't treat her well. With that said, he still has the best of humanity at heart despite his scorn towards their ignorance, agrees with Superman's insertion that humanity will not give up nor should it, and that he does care for Power Girl.
  • Sealed Evil in a Duel: One of his go to methods in defeating evil entities. He's VERY good at this. When mystical threats in other DCU books emerges, anything threat in which said backstory involves having Arion battled them in the past (The Diablos in JLA: Baptism, Dark Giants in Suicide Squad, Xaos in Zatanna mini series) usually have world-destructive abilities.
  • The Stoic: Very much so starting out in Arion, Lord of Atlantis. He has moments of being more optimistic but he's usually stoic and realistic.

    Calculha
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/calculha_01.jpg

The father of Garn and Arion, the latter whom he apprenticed. Calculha was once a former king who ushered in a true era and peace and was the leading sorcerer in Atlantis.

  • Age Without Youth: Although stated to be immortal, by the present time of Arion, Lord of Atlantis, Calculha is past his prime physically and in power.
  • The Archmage: Is the true most powerful Atlantean mage in history. Although his son, Arion, is just as powerful and is considered this officially, he feels his father is this.
  • Big Good: Is a follower of the Lords of Order, was a benevolent king that brought in the first era of peace in Atlantis's history, and always fought against evil forces like Majistra, his wife.
  • The Dragon: Unknown to most of the Atlantean pantheon, he is actually this; the universal consciousness that created Darkworld considered him a peer and his previous guardian.
  • God Is Good: Is considered a force of good in the Atlantean pantheon.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: When Arion sacrificed his body to usurp the Zodiac Crystals from Majistra upon being asked so by his father, his body began converting to energy and Calculha did his best to convert energy into a sphere to send into space while sending Arion's soul to Darkworld. The result of his attempt jettisoned him into Darkworld with no way out for centuries.
  • I Was Quite a Looker: In the past, Calculha was quite attractive and had vibrant brown hair when he was younger.
  • The Omniscient: One of his powers includes being able to know almost everything that's happening for the most part. In the past however, there are some instances that shows limitations to which he can foresee although this was before he increased his already great power while sealed away.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: He is considered the most powerful god of the Atlantean pantheon and is pretty powerful, arguably more so than Arion; Chaon learned this the hard way despite being one of the 3 balances (and later retconned into one of the Lords of Chaos).
  • Really 700 Years Old: Has been around since even before creation.
  • Top God: Is this to the Atlantean pantheon to most. Even though Chaon is one of the three "balancing" forces (retconned to being a Lord of Chaos), he calls him master still.

    Tynan
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tynan_01.png

The Atlantean cosmic balancer, he seeks to maintain the balance between Chaon and Gemimn, his siblings.

  • The Stoic: He is a stern and grim figure, though not truly evil.

    Gemimn
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gemimn_01.png

The Atlantean god/goddess of order and agent of the Lords of Order. Gemimn is also a sibling to both Chaon and Tynan.

  • God of Order: She is the Atlantean god of order.
  • Mystical White Hair: During most of her appearances in the first series, she looks like a white-haired woman with dark skin.
  • Sex Shifter: While Gemimn appears as a beautiful, dark-skinned woman in the Arion, Lord of Atlantis series, they eventually live out their retirement at as elderly black man.

    Jheryl
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jheryl.png

Jheryl is the goddess of truth and knowledge of the Atlantean pantheon and served as Arion's teacher and surrogate mother.

  • Evil Counterpart: Majistra is strife and darkness to Calculha's good and light. This didn't stop them from hooking up for a time however, producing twins.
  • Nepharious Pharaoh: Her design invokes one, although she lived long before the first pharaohs.
