- Knight in Shining Armor: And the 21st century characters have a lot of fun intially with pointing out how out of place it looks
King Kaa the twenty-third.
- A Father to His Men: He's the bloody king of a 13th century kingdom, and yet he still talks about 'his men', and how it's a king's place to be beside them in battle
- The Good King: We're given no reason to believe that his rule isn't good, even if he's on the losing end of a war with barbarians when the plot kicks off.
Oscar Lightbulb
Private eye in 21st century New York.- Expy: A private eye who shouts 'Elementary! Elementary!' - come on, it's obvious just which archetype they were going for here.
- Funny Animal: Like all the characters - in Oscar's case, he's somewhat dog-like.
- Straight Man and Wise Guy: The Straight man To Barnaby's wise guy

Oscar Lightbulb's assistant in 21st century New York- Cloudcuckoolander: The amount of times he misunderstands the point in even the first episode cannot be counted on your hands.
- Funny Animal: Looks like a more dog-like Goofy.
- Straight Man and Wise Guy: The wise guy to Oscar Lightbulb's straight man.
Angele
Prince Argai the twenty-fourth's bethrothed.- Never Say "Die": Considering the lighthearted feel of the show, it's obvious that the 'sleep' she is put in by the Dark Queen's poison is shorthand for sickness and/or death.
Orial, The Dark Queen
Main antagonist of the series- Big Bad: She is the leader of the dark forces.
- Evil Overlord: Rules the world in 2075
- Evil Sorceress: Her magical powers is what allows her immortality.
- God Save Us from the Queen!: Calls herself 'The Dark Queen' and is the Big Bad of the show.
- Powered by a Forsaken Child: She has immortality as long as the victims of her poison continues to sleep
