Openings/Endings

  • The 1st opening, "Shayou: (or "Setting Sun" in English) by Yorushika. Appropriately named, it conveys the two leads' hearts with a parallel between the feeling of falling in love with embracing the sun's light together.
  • The 2nd opening, "Boku Wa... (I am...)" by Atarayo, is epically sung from Ichikawa's heartfelt POV about his love for Yamada and how she flipped his worldview over for the better.

Soundtrack

Among the anime's highlights is its score, composed by Kensuke Ushio of A Silent Voice, DEVILMAN crybaby, and Chainsaw Man fame.
  • †Countdown to Death†" is out of place for a romcom (which is the point), but is nonetheless epic.
  • "the shine". It begins in its first half in a somber tone as Ichikawa doubts himself, contemplating staying a bystander as Yamada is accosted by Nanjou for her LINE info. Then the second path erupts triumphantly to the end, at the very moment Ichikawa breaks past his doubts and hurls his bike past the two to stop what he knows is wrong.
  • "the dangers in my heart", first played at the aftermath of Ichikawa "hitting the gas, instead of the brakes" of his bike. It starts off slow and quiet with violin strums and ambience, but the piano picks up when Yamada laughs at Ichikawa's awkward joke, ending episode 1 and starting a spark between the two.
  • "it begins", a piano-based tune playing along Ichikawa holding Yamada's hand in the library to hide her chocolate, and arguably cementing her feelings for him.
  • "I will come to you", a track fit for a winter setting that gradually picks up pace throughout its run as Kyotaro searches Yamada's lost keychain during snowfall, up to the point the would-be couple cross paths.
